Pray for Mojo - SDMB Poketroplis 2nd Quarter, 2006

Kills since 5/4/06:

  1. Yeti (11.5)
  2. Dag (10)
  3. Nesta (8)
  4. GO (7)
  5. Duck & MissT, Nook (5 each)
  6. Asterion, MissN & Root (4 each)
  7. OMD (3.5)
  8. Kyy & Oslo (2 each)

I’ve gotta ask: was Nanook a bully?

On it’s way.

No way! You did miss the ultimate of ironies though. My knockout of Duck was a river suck out heh.

I don’t know why I have such a reputation for sucking out, I saw several last night and I was never on the sucking out end. Hell, I ain’t won a hand in so long that I’ve forgotten what it’s like to rake a pot, much less suck out! And yeah, Nanook hits a 9 on the river to beat my pocket 8s. Mf’r!

The 2006 World Series of Poker Dopefest at Las Vegas!!! (July 27-30th)

I’ve kicked off the Allen nagging. I’m leaving for trivia league in about 20 mins. Hopefully I can sign up and bot it if our ol’ buddy Al has his game face on. Otherwise, I’ll try to make it. I feel like I haven’t played in ages.

It’s up. Get in there, Cap’n!

Man, I had no business playing in that game last night… :smack:

Congrats Oslo. It’s nice to see the elders getting some respect every once in a while.

Wow, last night was brutal to those at the top of the standings. At least the shakeup should keep things infesting for the next couple of weeks.

I appreciate you posting the kills. I suspect that it correlates with aggression, or not. In my case it may be stubbornness. Anyone care to theorize?

Well, by comparing the standings to the kill list, I can see why I am called and MF’r and why Nesta is called a sneaky bastard…

I lead in kills, but rank 4th in standings, so there might be a case for me being aggressive (player killing) most of the time, but not all of the time. Nesta, who leads in the standings, has less kills and finds ways to win by letting the attrition of other players advance his position in the standings…not all the time, but most of the time. Since Dag Otto is 2nd in both lists, then he is more of a balanced player compared to me and Nesta.

Also, keep in mind that I started this list one month after the standings started, so this time around, the comparison is somewhat tainted when a whole month (April) of kills were not noted. It will be interesting to see this next quarter.

Also, since the number of games played in a quarter by each player will be different, then maybe the average of kills/game should be considered instead of total kills for the quarter, for a more accurate picture of players’ aggressiveness (not to steal pots, but to take players out of the tournament).

Well, that’s my theory.

I gave this a bit more thought. I suspect that more kills come from calling all-ins than by making them. This would imply an ability to read the opponent, as well as an ability to accurately judge the strength of your own hand.

That’s a theory, all right.

Don’t think I didn’t see this, whippersnapper.

It’s Thursday, and Allen has been alerted.
