Prayers and good wishes for my grandmothers

Yes, I said grandmothers. Both of them are in the hospital-my paternal grandmother has lost almost all of her motor skills, she’s been confused and agitated, and while we are awaiting test results, her doctor sent her to a nearby rehab center to help her recover. We’re still not sure if it’s a stroke, a tumor, or what. And my grandfather, selfish bastard that he is, is only concerned about the fact that he’s no longer allowed to drive and is blaming her, my dad, my aunts, etc. It’s a difficult situation all around.

However, my maternal grandmother is even worse. She’s had a series of small, silent heart attacks and her doctors have discovered some severe blockage in her arteries, and they’re not sure they’ll be able to take them out. Originally they planned to put in a pacemaker, then some stents, now we don’t know what’s going on. Gramma is eighty-eight, she’s always been tough and independent, but she’s had heart problems for years, she’s diabetic, and she’s probably underweight. My mother and I are going in to see her on Sunday.

So if you’re a religious person, please pray for them. If you’re not, just good wishes are fine.

Best of luck, & my prayers.

Sorry about your grams, Guinastasia.
Good thoughts are headed your way. :frowning:

Geoff and I will both be praying, Guin. God bless.

I’m thinking of them and you, too, Guin. Good wishes.

My prayers are with your family Guin.

Old age is no fun. I hope they both have good doctors, who can do whatever can be done for them with a minimum of discomfort and anxiety.

You have my prayers AND good wishes for your grandmothers, Guinastasia.

Thanks. My paternal grandmother will most likely be all right-it’s dealing with her and my grandfather that’s the main problem. I wasn’t kidding when I called my grandfather a selfish bastard-he’s impossible. And it’s not because of getting old, or worrying about his wife-he’s always been that way.

It’s my mom’s mother that’s in the most danger. She has a choice-leave the blockages where they are, most likely resulting in another heart attack, or angioplasty, but the doctor said there’s a possibility of her having an attack on the operating table. My mother went up there today-my sister goes to college nearby and she’s coming home for the weekend.

And on top of all this, I have a cold. No big deal, but I’m afraid on Sunday then that they won’t let me in to see her.

Gramma is out of surgery (well, angioplasty), they put the stents in and she’s going to be just fine!

Thanks so much everybody!

Glad to hear it, Guin!

I will remember your grandmas in my prayers. I hope your grandmas get better, or find ease from their troubles at least.
