I wonder what condescending words either will use to characterize their loss next week. Personally, I think Mitt will talk about the loss as an opportunity squandered by the American people who foolishly believed the fraudulent claims of an Obama administration bent on deception, while Ann will angrily denounce the voting totals and claim that only a corrupt electoral conspiracy could have kept her out of the White House.
Well I predict whoever loses will be generous and gracious. You do not come this far in politics by having the attitude of a spoiled 5 year olf
He’ll say all the right things- congratulate Obama on his win and pledge to support him. Ann will stand next to him and cry. Then they’ll crawl back behind the woodwork like the cockroaches that they are, and go back to their lives of pillaging companies and stripping out their assets.
Nah; it’s more like a 2 year old. 5 year olds are way too mature.
Incidentally, I’ve read somewhere that Ann Romney is not popular with the public whereas Michelle Obama is very very popular. Any truth to it?
" This anonymous clan of slack-jawed troglodytes has cost me the election, and yet if I were to have them killed, I would be the one to go to jail. That’s democracy for you."
Which ones? I doubt that Michelle is all that popular with the right wingers that portrayed her as an ape-woman.
He will say that it is *God’s Will *that he not win and for once he will be speaking the truth (least God smite him).
They’ll look for people to blame. Or maybe the storm will be to blame. It can’t be anything they did wrong though.
Ann is a bird flipper. There’s no predicting what Mitt will say, he might claim he never ran for president.
He’ll be gracious. Better, *he’d *be gracious. I’m not “singing victory” yet (to use Spanish phrase.)
As for Michelle, I think it speaks well for us that many more Americans can relate to/ see a bit of themselves in a black woman than in someone like Ann Romney. Not just Obama supporters, but a lot of Romney voters as well.
It’s going to be a fucking AWESOME day of reading on the SDMB if Romey wins, that’s what I think.
“Stop it.
This was hard.
You want to try it? Get in the ring.”
“I don’t understand it either - nobody I know voted for Obama.”
“Mitt’s putting together a legal team to challenge this election. One thing about my Mitt - he doesn’t like to lose!”
“Don’t worry, honey: I hedged all of our pro-Romney bets on Intrade and we actually came out OK!”
Which is entirely possible.
Oh, I think it will be an interesting day of reading either way. There are people on both sides who have expressed absolute certainty about their guy winning.
Would you like to bet?
Thats the truth. If Romney wins, make some popcorn and sit back to watch the fireworks!
Assuming he loses I think Romney will give your basic gracious concession speech and go off to do businessy things again in relative obscurity. I can’t see him either running for office again or doing the FoxNews pundit thing.
If Obama loses, he’ll give a better speech (he’s good at the speech thing) and will go off to do ex-Presidenty things along the lines of what Clinton has been up to.
Bravo!
Mitt as supervillain.
No kidding. $500 sound good to everyone? I’ll put up half of this side if the bet contains some familiar wording.
