I’m not Shodan’s biggest fan (but I don’t really dislike him, either), but that statement right there just screams of witch hunt to me. Fuck you, he should bother to deny a damning statement he never made. The onus is on his accusers to prove his guilt, not him to protest his innocence. Protestations of innocence only serve to damn the victim further when people get into that mindset.
I was preparing a reasoned response (which happened to include a lot of “fuck you”'s and “eat me”'s), but Bosstone nailed it in one.
One other point … I said I would discount most things the conservo-posters here would say in her defense, because they seems to go into ultra-spin mode whenever the subject is broached. When having these conversations with my face-to-face conservative friends, not one has claimed she hasn’t fucked up her interviews. Not one.
Look, I’m a Biden supporter. I’m the first to say that the man mispeaks more the Norm Crosby on a NyQuil binge. So when I hear shit like, “it’s gotcha journalism” and “the MSM hates Sarah Palin”, then yes I tend to call bullshit.

I see what you’re saying, and I agree somewhat. It is on the accuser to bring the cite. I have been accused of saying things I never said, and there is more than one way to handle it. You can say “I never said that, perhaps you have me confused with someone else.” Or you can ask for the cite, like **Shodan **did. But when **prr **asked him to clarify, and he refused to do so, it became clear that he was just being a dick about it, probably waiting until the cite could not be provided to rub his face in it. That’s what I’m calling him out on, the fact that he handled it like a dick.
Not when the person is actually innocent, and demonstrably so.

Shodan has one goal on this board: To derail political conversations and debates. That’s it. He doesn’t offer his own views, he just attempts in thread after thread after thread to change the topic to something where he can then whine that he or his ideology are being picked on.
It astonishes me that people can’t see that. Ask him a straight question and he will attempt to change the subject, to claim you only asked because you’re biased, to blame a Democrat, or otherwise derail, derail, derail. I’ve been here for a number of years and read hundreds of his posts and have no idea what he believes. There is no there there.
I’m not going to zombify that thread but I could take the same bet for the same reason (I won’t, because I’m sure Palin will turn up, but I could). My experience - virtually identical to yours.
Plus I’m sure the item in question is long gone by now anyway.

Anybody who thinks Palin won’t show up for this debate doesn’t remember the 2000 debates. It was predicted to be a bloodbath with the intellectual Gore wiping the floor with yokel Bush. The Bush camp knew he’d never win, so they coached him just to sit there, look friendly, never answer directly, and deflect all issues with some ambiguous phrase like “fuzzy math”. The result? Wild cheering from the base for going up against Gore the Elitist Goliath and not getting entirely dismantled.
Palin will be there. She’ll repeat the Bush strategy. Biden will probably overreach and goof. Palin will be praised for not getting totally annihilated. The show goes on.
Heh. So will I, for the same reason. I knew that gave me an advantage when cycling in the Tour de France, but I hadn’t realized it came in handy in political debates and bar bets. How promising.
