There are four 3k+ threads that I was able to find on the Dope. They are all in MPSIMS. One is closed. Three are currently on the front page and remain open. There is another thread only 50 or so posts away from becoming the 4th active 3K+ thread.
Of course, the WoOMC and/or the AOL/WWWCO may have dropped some from way long ago. I find this odd, that the likelyhood of long term, megapost threads seems to be on the rise.
Angua, check out my last Cafe post in the current Star Trek Enterprise thread. I had a bit of physics fun. Probably got it wrong, but still…

As I recall, someone posted somewhere recently a listing of the bigger/longer threads in each forum. Anybody here responsible for that post? If so, how about a link to it? I thought of doing the necessary searches but if it’s been done lately why bother, says I.

Anyways, the easiest way to find the megathreads is to toggle the “Replies” column and then come down to the bottom of the page and toggle “from: the beginning.” This gives the top threads by replies for whatever is actually archived (and not lost). Of course, you have to do this for each forum, so it’s best not to try when the Dope is slow. The last thread I saw like this was this one, by ccwaterback
