That is one beautiful dog!

As a former dog trainer, here are a couple of things I can tell you.

  • the dog (I think you should have named her Bob, because that makes me chuckle) is urinating submissively. It’s what the low dogs in the pack do when they see the the alphas. It’s hard to break, but It may happen naturally when the dog becomes more comfortable.

  • She’s also submissively rolling on her back (see above).

I have two rescues, my mom has one, and my sister has two. They are the best dogs in the world. However, if you don’t want to keep her, find the local Dachshund rescue, and they will more than happily take her. They will put her in foster, and definitely not destroy her.
Good luck,

What a sweetie! I love that last picture.

What did the vet say? Is she pregnant?

StG

AWwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww !!! She’s adorable ! That second picture just screams pick-me-up-and-love-me !

For what it’s worth , to me she doesn’t look pregnant , she looks more like she recently had & weaned a litter .

Give her a hug from me !

We have an appointment tomorrow morning to get her spayed… That’s when we’ll find out for sure, but I no longer think she’s pregnant.

You and your wife are real lucky. She is a real sweetheart !

EleusisA beautiful dog! What a sweet face! I would have kept her too. She doesn’t look pregnant to me either, btw.

Good luck with your newest family member. You guys rock. I love a story with a happy ending.

She has a huge smile in pic #3. Like this--------------->

You’ve just made my day.

It’s a funny thing about rescuing a dog. At first you tend to think that the dog is lucky. After a while you begin to realize that you’re the lucky one.

Bitchin’!!

Sorry, couldn’t resist. Still, what a beautiful dog.

Awwwwww!! She is just screaming, “Love me!! LOVE ME!!” You and your wife are really good people and you got a beautiful dog in return for your goodness.

Why do we always fall over for dogs when we know they’re secretly planning to take over the world?

Awww!

Are you sure she’s homeless though? It’s hard to believe someone would abandon such a cute dog*. I hope you’ll at least get her scanned for a chip (I think the vet can do that, if not the animal control can) and look for “lost dog” ads at appropriate places (local newspapers, local pet shops and shelters).

*Then again, my two dogs are just as cute (IMHO) and they were turned into the pound by their owners, so it does happen.

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!

That’s one adorable doggie, just beggin’ fer yer luv!

The dog is adorable! And I’m not even a dog person.

Best of luck to all of you.
