No one chose Joe in a Primary this time. Effectively, no one was running against him. Besides, like Loach mentioned, there are states where our Primary vote never matters, so the entire system is actually messed up.

If had had a heart attack and been unconscious for weeks in the hospital, would it have been “shameful”? Not, right? So it’s a matter of degree and perceptions about the facts on the ground. I think it was a 100% no brainer choice to nudge him toward the door, but I get that others don’t see it.
I take this argument far less seriously. Biden had no serious primary opponent, and so the primary race was nothing more than an empty ritual.
