There are a couple of ways to get to the end of a thread, but you can replace the post number at the end of the url with the last post number of the thread.

Below the scroll bar they show the time of the last post. Click on it and you’ll get teleported to the end of the thread.

Thanks everybody!

Nobody told me what the heck I actually did, though. I typed the number of the last post into a box! And I haven’t smoked dope in many years, I promise.

Type # and the box will open again. Then you can write the number of the post you want to go to.

FYI the coding for strikethroughs is “< s > < /s >” minus the spaces.

How does one get the post number to display? I have found that by clicking Reply it displays the post number and then I can press Cancel. This is ridiculous. How to get it to show all the time?

I see it over to the right at the bottom of the slider bar. It probably depends on which theme you’re using, though.

And the numbers may not line up precisely with the post. On my screen they always seem to be a couple of posts off (I can easily tell, because, for example, the numbers say I’m at post 386 or 387 out of 388; but I’m all the way at the bottom of the page. And I just clicked on the 4h at the top of the post (clicking reply only gets me a reply box, not a number) and that says the post at the bottom is actually #392; but it’s also got my name on it, so I’m not sure this one’s not #392, but in that case what happened to #388 through #391?

– the 1m at the top of my post says it’s #393. But the bar opposite says it, and the last post, is #389.

It should give the number of the post at the top of the screen, but that’s not necessarily the post that you’re reading at that moment.

You’re partly right. Apparently even if the only thing of a post visible at the top of my screen is the chain-dot-reply, and the post itself is off the screen, the slider numbers give the number of that basically invisible post.

However: At the moment, the post at the top of the screen is yours that I’m replying to. The numbers by the slider read 390/390; I’m all the way at the bottom of the page and moving it down further only takes the slider off the screen, it doesn’t change the numbers. But if I click on the “6m” at the top of that post, which the slider claims is #390, it says that it’s post #394.

I see what you mean now. That is weird— I wonder if it’s counting deleted posts or something.

I wondered that also. But whatever’s causing the discrepancy, it’s certainly going to make it awkward to refer to posts by number.

A new oddity–the separator line between new and old has vanished today.

They do default present threaded at the appropriate place in the thread. The nested posts are duplicate links to the posts. Just skip them.

People are discussing it here.

Something new for me, the notifications list you get when you click on your (alphabet) avatar at the top now has text approximately 3 times larger than it was. Not a major problem, but all the same, any ideas why? I don’t think it was anything on my end, I haven’t changed any settings anywhere, but I also don’t seem to have any control over the size of the text.

If I look at my summary page, among the statistics shown, it says “1.1k topics created”. That’s a lot more than I remember and if I look at the page that shows all the topics (threads on the old board), I only see about 120-130 listed. Is this statistic invalid for others?

Yes, inaccurate. It says I had 110 topics created. I probably had 10 at most on the old board and here I don’t think I have any.

Maybe it counts all your hijacks and off-topic posts as new topics? :upside_down_face:
