One of my favorite DJs in New Mexico started pronouncing Dillards as “dee-yards” because he was so used to pronouncing the Spanish ‘ll’ as ‘y’ (you know, as in ‘tortilla’?). Kinda caught on for a while.

US Airways = US Scareways (formerly Allegheny Airlines, or Agony Air)
Air France = Air Chance

Back in the days before Texas International airlines was scarfed up by Continental, we called it Texas Intergalactic.

7 Eleven = 6 Ten
Winn Dixie = Winn DickMe or Winn Doodie
Microsoft = Microsloth, makers of Internet Exploder and Back Orifice

The first time I saw a Kum & Go, I (figuratively) died with laughter. Of course, I was also drunk beyond belief at the time.

(I think those were pretty much unique to my family, and now that we actually live near one, we don’t use them as much as when we only visited Uncle Walter’s when visiting my grandmother(and then we visisted “him” once a day))
