Prog rock instrumental ID

This morning we were listening to the radio in the car and heard an instrumental piece that we couldn’t identify. It was on a radio station in L.A. that plays old school AOR, so it was almost certainly a seldom-played cut from an album of a well-known band like Pink Floyd or Rush or Led Zeppelin. It had a very strong prog rock vibe – for example, there was an intro section with snippets of classical music.

As the piece really got going there was a very distinctive staccato bit with the same distinctive phrase repeated:

Dadada dadada da dut da da!
Dadada dadada da dut da da!

Any ideas?
