Project Runway 10/4: The Reunion Show [spoilers]

I saw nearly all but the last five minutes when my cable went out because of a storm.

Random thoughts:

Vincent is even crazier than I thought. What a hissy fit over his shirt! And the snarking on Tim Gunn was mean.

Does Angela really think if she’d changed her story her dress would have been a contender? She’s even more delusional than Vincent.

I’m glad Michael won the viewer’s choice award. I thought it would be Alison or Kayne. I like Kayne because he’s apparently a sweetie but Alison gave a very annoying interview to Entertainment Weekly and made me hate her.

Heidi looked like a pregnant whore tonight.

Robert is very funny.

I had trouble understanding Kayne and I’m a native New Yorker.

Malan’s speech about his family being afraid he was gay was touching.

They didn’t give Katherine more than five seconds of air time. Odd.

Bonnie and Bradley looked great.

Heidi must have enjoyed getting to introduce Fraulein Uli Herzer. Is that German for Miss?

Jeffrey was a jerk to Angela’s mother. I thought he should have just admitted it and moved on. Good for Robert for calling him out.

Loved the montage of Tim Gunn and his glorious words. In a era of dumbed down public discourse, long may he caucus!

Keith’s story of someone handing him back the books sounded like pure b.s.

It was great!

What would have happened if Angela’s mother just walked out? That’s what I would have done. Left him standing there with that ugly Darth Vader dress. Angela was horrible and wacky but there was no excuse for Jeffrey.

I still don’t get why anyone thinks Jeffrey is a good designer. Except for the yellow plaid dress, have you looked at his clothes for the other challenges? They are seriously all ugly.

Heidi didn’t look good but she was sort of funny tonight. I thought Kayne and the fainting model was hilarious. Leave it to Kayne. I think he was the most fun to watch. He was so sweet and unsophisticated. When they said they were designing for a jet-setter and he said he thought it was going to be Tara Reid, I almost fell out of the chair laughing.

I find the reunion shows uncomfortable, and yet I watch.

Now I remember why I really loved Robert. I wish his clothes could have shown that great sense of fun and play.

I loved the montage of Malan giggling. Actually made me laugh out loud.

Vincent is bugf*ck crazy and delusional.

Angela’s mother probably didn’t have the option.

You LIKED that yellow plaid dress? I thought it looked like barf.

I thought Jeffrey’s only good dress was the newspaper dress. I thought the plaid dress looked like the model went on a picnic and had her real clothes ripped off by rabid squirrels and had to wrap herself up in the picnic blanket.

No I hated it. I can’t figure out why no one on the show mentioned her whole crotch was exposed.

His paper dress was fair, but it reminded me of Wilma Flintsone.

I cracked up over the word count for Kayne v Miss America or whoever. And the Tim Gunn vocab montage was priceless.

Vincent is a crazy bastard. I think I recall him being called “Captain Haldol” on the Projectrungay blog. Fitting.

And all of Angela’s clothes and her little flower things were hideous and it made me laugh that she had hope that it was just her story that made her lose. That dress was fugly. It looked like the john paid the trashy hooker extra to take his dog out the morning after.

There was some (to paraphrase Laura) serious delusion on the reunion show. Vincent-land must be a strange place to visit. I can’t think of one of his creations on the show that I said “wow” in a good way – most of the time it was “woah.” The screaming at the producers was just insane.

Then Keith, who actually seems to have convinced himself that he was set up, or a victim of misunderstanding, or . . . I couldn’t keep his story straight, so it’s no surprise he couldn’t either. Actually, I found him rather scary when he was just sitting there glaring at Tim. Tim, you might want to look into extra security.

Jeffrey is an ass, who still can’t say “I’m sorry” to Angela for the way he treated her mother. No surprise. And put me in the camp that hasn’t been impressed with his work yet. That couture gown, IMO, was hideous.

But it was good to see the rest of them, who seem so, well, NORMAL compared to those three. Glad Michael won – was he wearing braces? And that things turned out ok for Malan.

The other surprise that was Tim Gunn is a fine artist. Can he get any cooler?

Is this the one you mean?

She is as annoying as hell in that interview. I really liked her on the show, and she certainly has plenty of talent, but she’s pretty full of herself. She also seems to get along best with Keith and Jeffrey, which is rather suggestive in its own way.

Now, now, had she said “My woman and her dog are solicitors in the ‘entertainment’ industry. She has a certain clientele looking for specific experiences and her clothing says ‘hey big spender’” she might have won that challenge. Way more entertaining than Uli’s dumb story for that one and it would have been a perfect fit for that dress.

Several of them are delusional, Vincent, Angela, Keith (wow - he was nuts “it wasn’t in the contract,” “well, it was, but I didn’t break it,” “poltergeists brought my book back”).
Jeffery is still an asshole.

Was Nina also pregnant or just wearing a really bad dress?

I love the way Tim Gunn speaks.

I know I’m immature, but Jeffrey’s backstage farting had me in absolute hysterics. The reactions were just great, especially Vincent’s “That’s so… pig.”

I was really surprised that Laura actually kind of stuck up for Jeffrey, pointing out that none of the other mothers really said much more than “Whatever you want to do, dear,” and Darlene was the one to take it personally. While I don’t at all think that Jeffrey was in the right on that one, both Darlene and Angela were exhibiting some weird, vaguely passive-agressive behavior in that one.

Keith = ass. “Yes, uncomfortable, isn’t it?” His reaction when Heidi and Tim said it was time to move on - something like “I knew you would say that.” Get the hell over yourself, jackass. You fucked up. Admit it.

The catchphrase montages were awesome, but Bradley’s was definitely the best. Love his random noises. Team Squid 4 Life, yo!

Yes. That’s the interview I was thinking about. She comes across as totally lacking in perspective and utterly self centered. I was surprised they didn’t bring it up since they harped on the one Vincent did.

Did the previews show another problem between Jeffery and Laura where producers get called?

Finally, a reunion show where they ask the questions we would ask!

My impressions:

Keith: Liar, and an ass
Vincent: Delusional, and an ass
Jeffery: Mean, and an ass
Angela: Bitter, stupid, and an ass

That just about covers the asses.

I really liked everyone else, especially Malan (who I didn’t care for while he was there) Kayne and Robert.

I loved the clips. All and all, this was a really good reunion show. I also like the Laura/Heidi exchange.
Heidi: “Quite the change since last time I saw you!”
Laura:“You too”
Heidi: “Wow, you’re big!”
Laura:“You too”
Heidi: “You look great!”
Laura:“You too”

Pregnant women are funny!

Yes. Apparently, she accused him of farming out the actual sewing of his final collection, saying that he couldn’t have gotten that quality of sewing done in the time allotted. I’m inclined to believe that she knows what she’s talking about in terms of time required for sewing to a certain level since she clearly has superior sewing abilities, judging the way we were shown how she would finish sewing her beautifully constructed garments hours before anyone else on a number of the challenges. I don’t know about her accusations, but she does know her sewing.

So we shall see.

I didn’t think that Allison interview was that bad. Sure she has an ego but so does almost everyone on that show to some degree. Let’s face it we’ve made some of her comments about the producers choosing drama over talent. I don’t get her critique of Laura though after Laura essentially fought for her when she got booted off. That’s a bit ungrateful. I don’t think that Allison, Keith and Jeffrey all could have lasted on the show until the final three or even final six because that much ego all bottled up together in a small group would have eventually caused some sort of ego implosion that may have caused a black hole to form.

According to what I read, your allowed to farm out sewing and whatnot as long as it comes out of your clothing budget. Jay paid somone to do the quilting during the first season, and Daniel did too. Even though she wasn’t in the final three, Jayna? (the person eliminated from the final three last season but still made a collection) got in some trouble for this.
She had some shoes made that were apparently very expensive and handed in a fake receipt saying the shoes were $150. I guess it didn’t matter too much since she wasn’t in the final three anyway.

Jeffrey the creep wrote about this on his blog and said all kinds of crap about Laura that was really nasty. I’ll try to find the link if anyone wants it. I really really can’t stand him.

Was anyone able to listen to Vincent’s podcast? I heard he said some very nasty things.

Allison does have a point in that interview. It boggles my mind that Vincent stayed as long as he did putting out crap week after week and always being in the bottom. She made one dress that wasn’t so great and got the boot.

For all the serious ugly that gets perpetrated, cheer up. It could be worse.

A LOT WORSE.
