We’re back, after last week’s Season Two Marathon (which was rather welcome - Jeffrey just makes me miss Santino more and more every week. Yes, Santino was an ass, but he SANG! And he was FUNNY! Jeffrey’s … just an ass.) Soon we’ll find out just what Heidi meant when she said that they hadn’t “committed” to a final three, and which, if any, of the Fashion Week Shows was the decoy.
Me, I was bad. I looked at all of them. Anyone else?
I saw some of them but I lost the link. I heard there’s some kind of drama involving Laura and Jeffrey.
I’m rooting for Michael. I think.
I really think Laura, Uli and Michael are all very talented and I’d be happy if any of them won. Does anyone know if the win is based just on the Bryant Park collection or based on all of their designs?
I love this show but I really wished they used some sort of point system judging. Jeffrey was in bottom two about 3-4 times, yet Allison never was and got voted off for one bad dress.
Yeah, Laura and Jeffrey are catting at each other pretty hardcore. This has been the scandal season, hasn’t it?
Michael was making me sweat like a whore in church. Stop sketching and just make something, dammit! You’re supposed to win the show, just as you’ve won my heart!
Am I the only one disappointed that we didn’t find out what Kayne’s incredibly long farewell scroll said?
So glad they’re all in! Actually I’m not glad Jeffrey is in but I knew they’d keep him.
I thought it was a little bitchy of Uli to take Michael. True, she’s a great model but I think she did it to throw Michael off. I didn’t think her dress was all that special.
I’m really surprised that it’s been mostly dresses this season and no pants.
Uli’s winning dress tonight looked like a reject from an Austin Powers movie - the line, the length, the collar, even the model’s hairdo were all pure 1968.
Does anyone else think that the clothes Uli wears are more attractive than the ones she puts on her models? I’m assuming she makes what she wears. The garments on her back are elegant, simple, colorful, comfortable and well-made - why can’t she produce equally good ones for the contest?
Here’s pics of the Bryant Park clothes if you want to see what they look like. Don’t look if you don’t want to be surprised. Very high res.
All the collections plus pics from other episodes, bad seams and all http://www.sparklies.org/gallery/index.php?cat=105
I’m not. I still hate Jeffrey who once again was an asshole who made an ugly dress and is in desperate need of a dictionary as he obviously doesn’t know what “romantic,” “irreverant,” or “provocative” mean.
I just took a quick peek. I won’t spoil it for anyone, but, can I just say: Wow. I really hate Laura’s collection. Which is surprising because I’ve been a Laura booster all season.
So we’ll never know for sure, but I’m wondering this: how long was the “final four gets to show” planned in advance? Was it when they were finally down to 6, 5, or even 4 or was it right there on the runway when they just couldn’t bare to axe Jeffery or Michael and made a cop-out decision?
I don’t know, but it’s entirely plausible that it was, in fact, something of a last-minute decision.
If you remember, in previous years they had the last four people design collections in order to keep up the suspense over who the last three would be. I assume they were going to do that again this year; the only difference now is that the fourth person’s collection will actually get to go down the runway, rather than being simply a dummy collection.
I didn’t understand all the judge hatred for Michael’s dress. Yeah, it wasn’t to my taste, but it was better than a lot of the other stuff they’ve given a pass to.
Oh, Jeffery. How I want to strangle you. His dress did look amateurish, but then again, I have never seen the “sophistication” the judges kept referring to in his past work.
Uli and Laura just did their same old schticks, which was actually appropriate for this challenge. I didn’t like Uli’s dress AT ALL, but given the other dresses, I can see why she won. Was also glad to hear Heidi tell Laura that they didn’t want to see 12 plunging necklines coming down the runway at Fashion Week. Hee hee hee.
The reunion looks like it’s going to be rife with drama and pettiness. I almost feel sorry for Angela in advance – she just seems like the type of person who has never been able to adequately defend herself, and Jeffery looks like he’s going to have his knives drawn. Ugh.
I thought Jeffrey’s dress was slightly better than the judges thought. I really hated Michael’s, which is a first for me. When he bought that fabric, I cringed. It looked like a color from the bridesmaid dresses from when I worked in a bridal shop.
Michael’s sketch for the dress was beautiful. I think he made the keyhole way too big. It should have been just a little opening like Uli’s. I was surprised at the color myself.
Laura’s dress was typical Laura but it was a beautiful dress. She can do other things-her Katherine Hepburn pants were really nice. She should have done a dressy pant outfit.
Mustn’t bore Nina!
Jeffrey’s clothes all look really cheap to me. Like they came from one of those cheaper clothing stores at the mall for teen girls. His outfit looked like it came from a Little Bo Peep Halloween costume from Walmart.
I didn’t like any of the dresses last night and, like Nina, I’m tired of plunging v-necks.
Here’s a spoiler that I haven’t seen mentioned in any of the threads about Project Runway–not that juicy, but juicy enough:
Laura accused Jeffrey of outsourcing the sewing of his collection. TPTB undertook a major investigation. The comment from Tim was along the lines of “It was a very ambitious collection. I wasn’t born yesterday.” My fingers are crossed that Jeffrey gets his ass handed to him.
Keep this in mind: these were the same judges who thought that shortening the sleeves on Uli’s black & white dress would have been a terrific improvement, because it made the model look more “fragile”.
Which was, apparently, a good thing to their mind.
Sometimes, that oompa-loompa and the chicks make some good comments, but most of the time they just make me realize that they’re not sharing the same universe with the rest of us.
