Project Runway 13

Yeah, I’ve met an Italian or two and they never spoke like that either.

As for Kini, maybe he’ll be the one getting the Tim Gunn save, thus canceling out his getting screwed over. That’s my prediction.

OK, so much for my prediction. :smack:

After the runway show, here’s how I would have ranked them.

Top 3:
Fade
Samantha
Sean

Bottom 3:
Emily
Amanda
Alexander

Out of how the judges ranked them, I thought that Sean should have won and Alexander should have gone home.

I can almost grudgingly give it to Korina. She did “take us somewhere” and the styling was good. I thought the dress would end up being a lot simpler so that was a pleasant surprise that there was something to it. But upholstery fabric? Yikes.

I would have like Sean to hang the necklace down the model’s back and create something more dramatic back there. The velvet looked like an academic hood.

I don’t get the love for Amanda’s look. As they showed, the judges hated a prior incarnation of the idea but they loved this one?!

Yeah, I thought Amanda’s black see through look was better than this one. Judges be trippin’.

Is it just me, or does poor Alexander’s resting face make him look really, really stupid?

I would have given Sean the win. I think it hurt him to have won the two previous challenges.

I admit I thought they were ALL awful. Boring, boring, boring. The love of Amanda’s idiocy was baffling. Half were a mess and the other half were prom circa 1985. Ick.

I liked Korina’s dress, but the design on the jacket, not so much. I wasn’t surprised that the judges liked Amanda’s design. They seem to, especially this season, like some of the worse looks. I didn’t like the black jumpsuit or the see-through…Whatever that was.

You mean when he’s just standing there with his mouth open? Yeah, someone needs to be a friend and say something.

His voice doesn’t help either.

I really liked Sean and Korina’s looks, though the shoulders on Korina’s jacket were a bit too much. Her black dress underneath was gorgeous. I expected it to be much more simple, but it was very nice and I loved the black jewels against the black fabric.

And I also agreed with the two bottom looks. But I have no idea why Amanda was in the top. The see-through dress thing was not appealing and looked very poorly made.

I thought the Tim Gunn save was… well, I think he’ll regret it. Looks to me like he felt bad about making that statement last week (“If it were later in the season, I’d use the Tim Gunn save for you”) which was a dumb thing to say, and then he felt guilty about it. It is too early in the season, I don’t think she’s one of the best designers (although she’s certainly one of the nicest!).

I figured it would be between Korina and Sean, and I’m fine with Korina winning. Sean’s was really good, but nothing that innovative.

I thought Amanda was going to be in the bottom. The challenge was an outfit for a gala, and that was certainly not.

As for Samantha versus Alexander going home, boring almost always loses poor execution.

I just had this feeling it would be her the whole episode because they gave her more screen time and up till last night I didn’t even remember she was in it. She and the blue-haired woman faded into the background.

And yes, Alexander did strike me as drooling moron resting face. I feel bad.

Yeah, Shar will be back auf anytime now. It’s like Tim is a big softy and brings back likeable people.

I am not a designer, but I would pick fabric that contrasted with jewelry, not fabric that is the same color. The gorgeous sapphire suite that Sean’s model wore was washed out next to the dress of the same color. Add me to the list of" puzzled by praise for Amanda’s whatever you call it." As to Alexander looking stupid, I think he has adenoid or sinus problems and breathes through his mouth.

Final collections up at TLo. Not exactly spoilers since everyone left got to show.

Hmmmm…maybe that’s why Tim saved Shar…so she can have a runway show.

I didn’t see anything “red carpet” about Sandhya’s look. I thought the sapphires in Sean’s look actually looked like part of the construction of the dress, like a halter collar or something. I loved it. Alexander’s mouth-breather look is off-putting. Didn’t like the horse-blanket coat. I actually liked Amanda’s outfit, and I really didn’t think I would. As for Samantha - who goes into a competition like this without having made a at least some practice gowns (wedding dresses, plus-sized clothes, etc.).

StG

I always wonder this same thing. I mean if you knew you were going on this show wouldn’t you spend the month before hand practicing your butt off? Unless it says you can’t in the contract or something but even if I thought I’d just made it through to the end rounds of selection I’d have friends and family coming up with all sorts of crazy “challenges” for me.

Does anyone else think Alexander and Sean look a lot alike? Other than Alexander looking like a mouthbreather, of course.

Dumb challenge, no interesting garments.

I got Alexander and Sean confused at the beginning although now I can’t imagine why. They both have large eyes? same color hair? But then I also got Samatha mixed up with Christine (had to look her up) even though the latter had gray hair.

Really. This is the 13th season of the show. Contestants should know there will be these challenges: unconventional materials, wedding gown, average/plus size women, red carpet look, something for Heidi, and at least 2 team challenges. I would assume contestants have watched previous seasons???

As much as I hate to see Fade go, he did run out of steam and I was embarrassed by his outfit. It was like he took all day placing the go button.

I am torn on Sean vs. Kini. I see the imagination Sean had, but in the end it’s a badly dyed dress no one would wear. But avant garde doesn’t have to be wearable, it just has to make a statement in the show, I guess? I am happy Kini finally got a win, and disappointed there was no prize for it. Maybe they got Samsung Curve TVs.
