I know that if I were a client of celebrity stylist Freddie Leiba, I’d have been on the phone firing his ass within about 2.5 seconds of hearing him say he liked that jumpsuit.
And is it just me, or was the crotch on that thing really low? I’m not saying it should be ultra-form fitting up there, but whenever she had her feet even a little bit apart that seemed like it was halfway down to her knees.
Nick’s design was iffy and the execution sucked, but it was no where near as bad as the crap Santino put out.
My gosh-- it didn’t even occur to me that this puts either Santino or Kara in the top 3. Neither deserves it right now, but Santino will almost certainly make it through over Kara, who hasn’t shown the creativity or impact needed to create a full collection. It should have been Daniel, Chloe, and Nick/Andrae. I thought Kara would be out this week, Santino next, and it would end up being Nick along with Daniel and Chloe. Alas, the fates do not always align in my preferred manner.
I’m predicting a Daniel win.
I agree. I loved Nick at first, but he had very limited range. In Tim Gunn’s podcasts, it seemed like Tim was loving Nick and even Tim got tired of him. Boy, I can’t stand Santino either, but that’s more personal. He has a vision (even though I don’t like it).
Finally got to watch this and one thing me and my girlfirend have to remind ourselves about is that these clothes probably look very different in peson. I also thought Nick’s outfit was pretty good, but it was very badly sewn, and the fabric maybe looked even worse in person. And I do think the pants were terrible.
However, Santino’s was hideous and I really wish Kara had been honest when they asked her about it. I think that also could have swung it.
I am starting to lean toward Chloe winning. She is the most highly consistent. She seems to get the idea that people wear clothes and she has a lot of skill. Daniel may be a bit more of an envelope pusher, I admit. But the fact that Chloe had never done men’s clothes before seemed to really impress the judges.
There were some photos from Fashion Week in the local paper this morning. I’ll box my comments for those who want to be surprised.
[spoiler] The larger photo showed Santino and his models. The garments all looked very floaty and plain. Surprising considering what Santino has foisted on us during the whole PR season. The smaller photo showed one of Tara Janx’s outfits. Kind of bizarre, but colorful. The accompanying text said FOUR contestants showed their lines during Fashion Week, but only THREE would appear in the show’s final episode. How interesting! [\spoiler]
Sorry for previous posting. I meant to hit Preview Post. . . but clicked on Submit Reply in error. Mea culpa!
Last year all four of the top four showed a collection at Fashion Week because of the timing - as you’ve noticed, Fashion Week obviously has to happen before the finale and they don’t want people figuring out the last few wins/losses.
I’ve read some reports from Fashion Week and from the impression they gave, that we are in for a surprise. Kara, in particular, performed very well, they say. It sounds like it’s between Daniel and Kara for the win. But they also say Santino was good and Chloe was a disappointment.
Whence the notion that Santino’s any good? I haven’t seen any signs of that vaunted creativity.
