I would too, but he’d be simply appalled at my fashion sense.
Poor Bradley. He summed it up pretty well, I thought. Did he never hear of Bob Mackie?
Laura was the middle of the pack again. And designed for herself. Again. It was attractive, well-made, fit well and was boring.
Micheal really hit one out of the park. I was very happy for him. I noticed they changed Nazgul’s hair for the photo shoot. Not so '70’s afro.
Angela didn’t quite get Audrey Hepburn for me. Too much skin. Audrey was all about simply elegance that played up her beauty. She only wore Dior, I believe.
I thought Vincent’s dress was okay. Made his model look waifish, which was what Twiggy was all about.
I liked the front of Kayne’s dress. The back made her butt seem …not big, but out there.
What I’d like to see for a challange is to have to design for plus-size models. At least size 16. If they don’t want to not use their chosen models, maybe they should have to design an outfit that would flatter both body styles. That would be a real test of their abilities.
My sister said that Tim Gunn has said that Heidi’s pregnant again. Maybe that’s the excuse for this week’s outfit.

I would love Tim Gunn to adopt me, too, but only if he could lose the whine in his voice. It’s just too much! I love what he says. And I love how he seems to really care about these designers. But I really can’t stand the prissy whine.
Finally, some recognition for Michael! I’ve loved his coffee filter dress and his outfit for the dog challenge, and I’m thrilled he got a win at last. That said, it wasn’t my favorite design of his (though the best by far in the challenge). I don’t know why the judges were peeing themselves over the shorts - there were some funny bulges at the sides.
I thought Kayne’s outfit was totally ugly, only something Marilyn Monroe would wear if she were playing a vampire whore in some cheapy B-movie. How he managed to make a 100-lb. model’s butt look big is beyond me. Robert’s I actually kind of liked, even if it wasn’t at all Jackie O. During the whole design process, he was acknowledging something was wrong, yet didn’t seem to be trying much to fix it. Frankly, that confused me. Robert obviously has so much more talent than these last two challenges have displayed.
Poor Bradley, I was sorry to see him go. He seemed so good-natured, if a bit panicky. I wish Jeffrey I’m-going-to-be-a-jerk-about-everything would get kicked off. He may have had a point about the sewing machines, but he overreacted. And Laura overreacted to his overreaction. Thank goodness Michael had enough sense to be chill.
You’d have to be pretty brave to do a Nazgul’s hair.
I think you’re exactly right here. The front looked hot, very Marilyn but also current. However, the way he did the gathers on the ass made that model look lumpy, which is just silly. The problem is, they go down the runway so fast, and the judges really didn’t see the back until they’d already picked Kayne for the top 3.
I was so excited to see Michael win. He has been the most consistently good designer so far, and I’ve liked all his work and his personality. He got Pam Grier perfectly and had the ideal model for the job. Kudos to her (Nasri was her name?) for picking such a great icon for her designer. I want Michael to win the whole thing!
That outfit was great, I thought. She could very well go all the way too.
Agreed… what the hell is a “fleurchon” and why does it have to be on every single garment she makes? Though I did love that dress. She did a terrific job with it and has more than redeemed herself as a designer in my mind, if not as a person. She must have made a pretty positive impression on Michael and Laura, who seem like cool customers and both of whom defended her when Jeffrey was being unduly nasty. There is no reason for him to be such a blowhard, even if he is right about the machines being messed up. Catch more flies with honey, Neck!Boy. Also, that Madonna dress was bad enough to be in the bottom 3. Awful. He got lucky this time that Vincent drew the fire, because his was worse, IMO.
Linen? Fucking LINEN for Jackie O? How did he not realize that was a terrible idea? Linen wrinkles like a mofo, and in a flat front skirt like that, it was doomed to look rumpled from the start. Also, would Jackie O ever wear a jacket tied with a string in the front? No way in hell. He so should have stuck to the turquoise and gone for a cropped, structured jacket like he originally planned. He’s really choking out there lately.
Truly, it was awful. Heidi was right-- he could have done almost anything for Cher, been “vulgar” for sure, shown skin, used rhinestones, crystal, fringe, leather, sheer, anything… and he went for Spaceman Spiff and cameltoe capris. He needed to go home after that and he clearly realized it. Ah well.
Vincent’s dress wasn’t nearly as bad as the judges made it sound. The pockets were ugly, but hey, whatever. Jeffrey’s was worse.
I’m sad that Kanye didn’t get Cher, by the way.
