Project Runway Finale/OPEN SPOILERS

I hated Chloe’s looks - first of all, it seemed like she got a great deal on a couple bolts of fabrics and decided to use just those. I’m sure she was trying for a cohesiveness, but too me it look repetitive and cheap. Her first dress looked like an '80’s prom dress. And the shrugs were so overdone. Daniel’s were safe, but attractive. Santino’s were okay, with some really nice pieces.

I told my sister that if I was one of the finalists I’d’ve shown up with 2 extra garments in case one or two of those I’d planned on were panned by people I respect (like Tim Gunn). And I’d’ve had them on live models to see how they’d move and fit, not just relying on dress forms, which won’t tell the whole story.

StG

The judges got it spot on correct, IMO. Chloe’s clothes were easily the best tailored, flattering to women, and the collection was consistent and cohesive, not every piece was great or even good, but there were some great pieces and overall it was the best collection. Santino on the other hand, his clothes were unflattering, horribly fit and boring. I think it was Michael Kors who noticed that when strip away Santino you realize his clothes don’t fit. Daniel’s collection looked fine, but it seemed to lack a focus. I did love the first outfit with the coat, but he has the talent, but he lacked a certain refinement in creation that Chloe’s collection had.

I didn’t see Chloe winning since she doesn’t sketch or seem to come up with a theme. They gave Danel such a hard time about his theme, yet Chloe was allowed to state it was her fantasy collection. :dubious:

But FANTASY COLLECTION is a theme.
I didn’t see anything of 40s FILM GLAMOR in Santino’s collection. And Daniel was given a hard time because his JAPANESE/MILITARY collection just had little sparks of “military” and nothing of “Japanese” IMHO. They’re all talented designers, I think, but Chloe just seemed to engage the judges more this time around.

So everyone should have said it was a “fantasy collection” and been done with it?
