I agree – I think it’s silly to give one day, as if that’s how things would be in the real world and it’s a true test of what a designer will face.
The mannequins are the sizes of the models , their names are on them.
Really? They don’t look like it, they still look like the same small ones they have always been using. I will look closer next time, thanks!
I saw names across the hip area. I might be wrong, but the mannequins look different to me.
That look that got Aaron aufed was the single worst look I have seen on any season of PR. It was tragic.
Kenya’s dress was soooooo beautifully fitted. Was that stretch lace? It was splendid.
Brandon, you promised you would show us something else. And then you make a hideously worse version of (a) the same thing you always make (b) the same thing you are wearing. One trick pony.
How did they not auf twin-with-hair? That sweatshirt and shorts was tragic. Tragic! And she is so self-deluded – she thought she did an amazing job! At this point they are just keeping them around for the drama.
But Margarita! Throwing her model under the bus when she realized she was in the bottom? Oh, they were best friends and both LOVED the outfit and then oh no, the model wanted what she wanted. She better hope she isn’t paired up with her again.
Kintaro’s? It was the most interesting but to look at a shirt that was folded and tucked up under itself and say it was amazing? Nah.
I’m torn about Samantha. I want to like her but to see she is capable of cool stuff for herself but is afraid to do at least that much on the show? You only get so many chances.
Am I asking a lot of questions and then answering them? Why, yes, yes I am.
ETA: Shoot I forgot the most egregious part. Kenya’s! I love Kenya and want to root for her, but that looked like something out of that catalog from the 80s/90s: Chadwick’s of Boston. To pretend they’re interested and want to know more?? Like Tim said, it was clothes and not fashion.
And with the shitty jobs the twins do, they have a lot of nerve getting on and critiquing anyone else’s work. At least the hairy one is getting impatient – perhaps an epic battle is on the horizon.
I feel like we’ve gotten to the point in each season where the most obvious ones have been shaken off and now its just a slog to the final show. After watching together this week my friend and I agreed we are basically just hanging in there for the aufing of the twins and the reunion show which should be a amazing bitchy-fest.
Did you guys see that Nina is now the Editor in Chief of Elle? I wonder if that means we’ll be getting Elle staff as guest judges now, instead of the Marie Claire EiC person, though she was pretty good whenever she hosted. And I have to say that I love me some Georgina Chapman because holy wow do I adore Marchesa dresses. Frilly and overblown as they are.
I’m surprised that the judges didn’t call Brandon out on making basically the same thing again, and I wonder if he’ll get away with it again this week. I did love the winning look, it seemed fresh and fun and I think I may need to own a pair of denim leg warmers.
Finally, please please let tomorrows be the cheating episode because I’m not sure how much more I can take of the twins…
I am relieved to not be the only one still watching! It’s pretty sad that I look forward to Thursday nights for this.
Yeah, Brandon – I would like to see what else he can do.
JC Penney episode
OK, this whole thing just left me sad. It starts out with these poor models having to wear awful clothes featuring fabrics and styles from years ago. A JCP fashion director with a straight face says they should use these awful fabrics to make something current, to be sold!
I felt sad the designers had to use these fabrics. I felt sad that the judges had to pretend any of it was fashionable or nice. The only acceptable piece was the one that won.
And “to be continued” always makes me blue.
With the caveat that I know they were constrained by the hideous fabric choice…
Kentaro - oh, shorts over leggings? where have I seen that before? Could it have been last week?
Brandon - big hooded shirt with straps hanging off it? Just like the one you wear every other week?
Well, at least Shaun will be left floundering. How do the judges not know about Shaun? Just ask the other designers about what skills each twin has or doesn’t have.
Not only are you not the only one still watching, but I am also rewatching Season 7 (Seth Anthony’s season) and just bought Season 4 on DVD, because you can’t find it anywhere online. I’m a shameless superfan.
The blue leisure suit was just no. I was Team Amy for a while there but she’s lost me. Kenya is good but needs to up her game a bit if she’s going all the way.
I am finding the bromance between Kentaro and Brandon adorbs, just as the producers want me to. That big pink buffalo check fabric made me think of a shirt I had in like 1987 and not in a good way.
I didn’t get the love for the winning look which seemed kind of tortured, and the judges didn’t love the other look for that team, but I thought it was exactly on point for Penny’s Holiday Wear or something.
The others must have been forgettable since I can’t remember anything about them, and can we please just get rid of a twin already? Their relationship seems so unhealthy, the longer we see them and I’m deeply annoyed that we have to give them even more screen time in order to finally jettison one.
Ugh I kinda hate this show. Can’t wait until next week.
I feel sort of ripped off that they didn’t show us the special challenge for the twins. I want to know which one is getting auffed, dammit!
And I thought Kenya’s was perfectly appropriate for Penney’s career section. Yeah, boring, yeah, clothes and not fashion, but hey, look at what those poor Penney’s models had to wear at the beginning. Kenya’s was mass-producable with a couple of little touches – the buttons and the black ends on the scarf. Perfectly acceptable to the office.
my mom bought me an outfit for my birthday last weekend… From JC PENNY… believe it or not it was a sweat shirt … a brendan kentaro sweatshirt… ribbon ties and all.
10/5 episode
Ok, if this is the big cheating scandal, I’m underwhelmed. First, while the original draping of the shirt was like Margarita’s dress, the end product wasn’t and was a perfectly serviceable and well-made shirt. Maybe the pants were a knock-off but the print and the pants worked, and the whole outfit was “woman on the go”. She pleased the client and provided separates that are wearable.
“I wasn’t raised to throw people under the bus” - but you were raised to talk behind someone’s back to EVERYONE IN THE ROOM and not confront them. And speaking in another language about someone, in front of their face? Rude.
And I don’t even like Claire much!
It was good to see Shaun just melt down – making it clear how little ability she had.
That poor woman with Kenya’s peplum shirt. I know nothing and I know not to do two peplums. The shape Zac pulled it into would have been fine.
I also loved Kentaro’s for a wedding, perhaps with a little less volume in the dress.
The challenge was for the best print , use of print and on the go look. I don’t much like Claire but she deserved the win. Hands down.
Margarita was being paranoid and childish and not at all a friend as she claimed to be. She could have easily taken Claire to the side and spoken to her but she went behind her back to everyone and then speaks in Spanish to Michael rumoring about her. This really annoyed me and was just plain petty.
I love Kentaro, he’s one of my favorites but even though I loved his look, I didnt love the print much and didn’t see it as an on the go look, I do kinda see what Heidi meant too but I still loved the look just not for this challenge .
This win was well deserved and I hope they don’t get carried away with the petty drama from Margarita and Michael.
I think the bromance between Brandon and Kentaro is adorable too. They’re actually my favorite designers
That’s a good point about Kentaro’s, but it’s kind of the producers’ fault. You can’t ask for “woman on the go” and then have the customer’s “sponsor” ask for a wedding look.
I agree Claire did the best with what the challenge was, and I was happy to see her get to do her thing without being saddled with her sister.
And Amy - huh? What were those “chaps”? A few more rounds and they will focus on how questionable some of her stuff is.
Is it well made? Do you enjoy it?
sizes are off a little sm is small and then M/L then xlarge my mom got me M/L because xl looked huge she said so… not sure about it … it’s a sweatshirt. I like it tho
