Project Runway starts again tonight!

Yeah, really. The problem Heidi and Zac had with Alexander’s dress is that it wasn’t sexy – guess what, morons, not all women dress to be sexy 24/7. The problem with Alexandria, though, was that it was butt-ugly, and I don’t know any women who go out of their way to wear ugly clothes.

I do not know why Heidi likes Alexandria’s work so much – and the fact that she (Heidi) does is the only reason that she (Alexandria) is still in the running.

Why so subdued, Nina? Can’t you muster up a little head-shaking for something this ugly?

Zac Posen is like Bambi.

Teutonic model bonding? I feel like Alexandria is a kindred spirit; ready to speak her mind without getting all emo about it.

I was shocked that they sent Kate home because it seems like they’ve been kissing her butt all season. But that garment was indeed “extraordinary.”

My eyeballs just about fell out of my head when I saw that.

**Mine too! I know the filming for their season is over (outside of probably a reunion show before the Fashion Week runway show airs) but I would think the show would still have some kind of rule about contacting media people before the entire season had aired. Granted, they probably never thought to include anything about not making threats toward any media folks.

What a maroon! Did she really think that Tom and Lorenzo would not publish what she wrote? Hey, maybe she’ll join up here just to bitch at us too. Has anyone seen a new poster with the screen name After School Special?**

“There was some minor drama surrounding Afterschool Special’s lack of confidence in her design” Ha!

Not to defend Helen, but a PR guy was on Tom & Lorenzo’s blog and said Helen’s original print design wouldn’t print on the HP whatsis and she had to come up with an emergency substitution.

I believe he was referring to Kate’s print, the binary [sic].

Showing at Fashion Week…Dom and Bradon…more to come…

I’ll admit, I thought it was very brave of Justin to remake his losing dress.

I wonder how they’d do if they had a “Project Runway Masters” like they do on Top Chef. Let’s get Zac and Michael and other designers having to make garments in 24 hours with $20 and a bag of Twizzlers.

StG

I don’t understand how Helen’s dress was a remake of Kate’s when she didn’t use any of the material from Kate’s dress.

Jillian used Twizzlers on Season 4 and made a beautiful garment. Unfortunately the Twizzlers became unstuck under the lights. And why is Alyssa Milano hosting “Project Runway All Stars?” (I use the term all stars loosely). What exactly is her fashion cred?

You’re right - I just went to the PR website and looked at both garments. I thought the top was a remake of the Kate’s blouse, but it’s a totally different fabric.

peedin - But the “All Stars” aren’t really famous designers, like the TC Masters. I want to see what they would do with the challenges.

Gotta admit, I loved it when Tim told Helen to grow a pair. He is not one to go the tough love route.

I thought Bradon’s dress would have been perfect if the inspiration was exotic birds, but not butterflies. The “noodles” looked more like feathers, though it was helped I suppose by the COLORFUL LOREAL COSMETICS.

I didn’t like the Goth look at all, but, ars gustibus and all. Though I did want to see a model come out in a plain black cape, then open it to reveal a fabulous Liberace-on-acid lining and skin tight solid pantsuit, along with COLORFUL LOREAL COSMETICS.

Dom is going to be huge whether she wins or not, and she seems like a nice person besides; I loved both her butterfly outfit and her remake of [what’s his name’s- the Madame guy]. And Emily Rossum rocked that jacket, even without COLORFUL LOREAL COSMETICS.

Perhaps it’s his name and libido being in the news for the last few days due to Mia Farrow, but the orange just had me thinking “Frank Sinatra would have shagged her before she was halfway down the runway!” (He LOVED orange.) It was a very pretty outfit, although a bit Studio 54 and not particularly butterfly inspired.

Justin is still just holding his own, imo; he’s certainly far above the abilities of most flyover state designers, but he lacks that certain brilliant spark Bradon and Dom have both shown. When not on the show he’s a professor in his native North Carolina, and I think that, like Tim Gunn, his major contribution to fashion will probably be teaching and mentoring others. (And I still think Tim is totally in love with him! -did you notice he kissed him in the group hug?)

Things I learned this week:

  1. Zac Posen doesn’t know where to wear a cock ring

That thing on his lapel wasn’t a flower.

Holy moly, you’re right! Blech!!

I was disappointed that most of the ‘avant garde’ looks weren’t very avant garde. Dom’s was the most so, but the other were more ‘slightly unusual’ than truely avant garde.

Alexandria should have gone home.
