There’s a thread about motion control further down, but fundamentally, no, so far all the titles revealed with Move support look like Wii knockoffs. Some pre-Move titles are refitting themselves to use Move, but if you weren’t interested in them before Move, there doesn’t seem to really be any reason you’d be interested in them now either.
What is it about the PS3+Move that you think “Looks like it might be good”? It’d be easier to point you in the direction of titles that fit your criteria if we knew what your criteria were.
Well, I guess I never got into the “Button A, D, Up, Down” stuff I’d seen on consoles in the past. But I’ll admit it may not be like that anymore. My few recent experiences have been with nephews consoles, and I don’t recall what they were.
I think I’d like some of the first person shooter type games. I guess I like the idea of being able to actually aim something and pressing a button rather than using a keypad/controller.
Maybe I need to hit the stores and look around. Any good places to go? Are the stores that sell games a good place? Or someplace like Best Buy?
Well, there are all kinds of plastic guns coming out for Move, so maybe there’ll be some FPS games that manage to make the mechanism work. I’m not holding my breath though - the number of actions involved in a typical FPS are way more involved than just aiming, which seems to be the only thing that lends itself to a motion controller.
As for where to go to buy games… I can’t really help you there. Best Buy usually has some stuff up on demo, and I’d avoid Gamestop, but I don’t really buy games in retail, and I tend to know what I’m after in advance, so my experiences aren’t really relevant to your predicament.
$400 is a lot to gamble on something that you might not like, too, so… I dunno what to tell you.
I have the Motion, though I haven’t played it much. I mostly got it for Little Big Planet 2, but that game’s been pushed back until January.
It’s ok. It’s better, movement wise, than the Wii, but for the sports game you have to play only in a specific area in order to have the camera register the movement.
The movement is really good though. Lol, my arm was sore the next day after I played the archery game.
