The Smokey Bear thread over in MPSIMS mentioned the old Iron Eyes Cody PSA (which I found and posted a link to). Of course PSA reminded me of Pacific Southwest Airlines, so I went to look for some. Maybe this should be in MPSIMS because it’s mundane and pointless, but since these commercials were on teevee I thought I’d put them here.

Hey! That made me think to look up the commercial my sister and I were in love with as kids. I give you:
I just knew that was going to be the motorcycle one! I remember a commercial when I was a kid for King Snedley’s Beer. (I thought they were saying ‘Smedley’.)

(I’m not actually sure about the last line.) Of course being in the single-digits I had no interest in drinking beer; but I liked the commercials.
What is it about the beer commercials of yesteryear and their too catchy songs? My sis and I used to sing them at the dinner table, much to the annoyance of our parents (who have a strong moral disapproval of drinking).
Now I gotta look for that Hamm’s commercial.

I didn’t find the later one with which I’m familiar, but I did find this Schlitz ‘gusto’ commercial. Still looking for the one with the guy sitting at the white table, floating down a river and heading for a waterfall to the tune that the Nairobi Trio played.
