You must have missed a pretty big chunk of it. He was on the phone with her (and we could see her, she wasn’t just ‘on the phone’). Then he moved to SF and tracked her down at a crime scene. Then he proposed to her.
Probably half getting (back?) into teaching* or some other job that requires an office and half bailing Shawn and Gus out of the rest of their lease.
But he should never teach if he’s going to drag his students to a shootout.
Why not? That’s got to be the best way to learn the job!
One of my co-workers didn’t notice Juliet either. That all must have happened in the last few minutes and he thought the show had ended so he turned it off and flipped over to the after pshow (on his DVR).
I stop watching shows before they end because they start to suck. Doom hangs over them like a piss-soaked mattress, everybody starts phoning it in, and the budget gets cut in a visible way. I could tell Psych was ending before I heard the news.
All you have to know is that Juliet and the Chief moved to San Francisco a handful of episodes and you’re up to speed. Now you can watch the finale. The interim episodes were just filler and really had nothing to do with the actual show. Many of them could have been tossed in anywhere in the series with just a bit of editing. The second to last episode was basically just a (terrible) Halloween episode (in March).

I finally got around to watching the series finale, so I’ll post a few thoughts here on the end of my favorite show. Overall the finale was satisfying, tying up all the loose ends and putting a nice button on things. Certainly it was not a laugh out loud gut buster, but given how difficult series enders are, I would say it was better than most. I loved the very appropriate Val Kilmer cameo, and I’m glad we got to see McNab again. The Monk reference was cute.
I hope they take some time off to get a little perspective, then come back with a TV movie. But I doubt it.

Sorry to bump a month+ old thread, but youse guys are nuts! I finally got around to watching the Psych finale, and it was awesome! Loved the proposal scene, and especially the chase that ensued; it assured us that nothing has changed. Shawn and Gus are still haplessly chasing the bad guys, just a bit further up the coast.
One of my pet theories was that *Psych *is the latter-day Get Smart. And when Shawn said, “I can’t believe he fell for the old granulated wheat germ in the eye trick” (or whatever it was), I knew I was vindicated!
And how many of you heard, in your heads, “they’re digging in the wrong place!” a couple of seconds BEFORE it was said on-screen? I know I did. But I’ll admit I missed the Monk reference.
Great sendoff to a great show. It will be missed.
