As of 0935 Purp and kidlings are almost to Burley, Idaho, East of Twin Falls. They’re making good time, and after stopping to visit friends in Ogden, Utah, they’ll shoot for Cheyenne, Wyoming.
I’ll keep everyone posted, as before.

Let’s see they have been on the road for a couple of hours now, so I’m sure she has heard “Are we there yet” at least 25 times! Thanks for keeping us posted.
No, actually they napped mostly. But now they are in Ogden, at 1155 Mountain Time.
They will grab lunch and visit friends for about an hour, and then press on for Cheyenne.
I liked swiddles idea in the other post about a map with the curvy dashed lines like in warner brothers cartoons. That’s kind of what i’m picturing right now along with some campy western tunes in the background as she and the young’ens make their way back home.
Update, 1645 MT.
100 miles west of Rock Springs, Wyoming, after spending 2 hours at a friends house in Ogden. The kids have been napping, along with the new feline aquisition. All is well, and everything is fine.
Go, Bear, Go!
Thanks for keeping us updated, VB, very nice of you to do.
But do they really need another cat?
Awww, but he is so cute!
I’m cute too, but nobody wants to take me home.
BTW what does the kitten look like?
So the cat and the bear will be fighting during the entire trip back? I think maybe getting a bearcub would have been smarter myself, but maybe I’m just stupid.
Tell her to hurry.
We miss her.
2120 update, MT.
She is in Cheyenne, Wyoming, stopping for gas and pressing on into Fort Collins, Colorado before stopping for the night. She estimates that it is about an hour from Cheyenne. She promised to call me, but I will not post that update until the morning.
Pipefitter: The cat is named Wilbur, is five months old, and is cute. He is black, except for 4 white mittens, a white neck, with a black patch on his chin that looks like a goatee, and white whiskers. He is very affectionate and curious, and apparently has settled in to the trip without problems.
Rats! It happened again!
But at least you know it can’t possibly have been PB who posted the above!
0854 Update:
Just passing the Mile High Stadium in Denver, heading south, after a good nights’ sleep in Fort Collins, arriving there at 2230 last night. Wilbur was being bouncy and nosy all night, and they finally had to put him in his carrier for the remainder of the night. Purps’ goal for today is to reach Las Cruces, New Mexico. This will get her home sometime tomorrow night.
She says to tell everyone hi, and that she and the kids are doing well.
In one word NO
Thanks for the updates VB!
1355 update:
Currently at a rest stop, 20 miles into New Mexico. Eating lunch.
200 miles to Albuqerque, and 400 from Las Cruces. She hopes to make it there NLT 2100 local.
Mr. Bear, she got the message.
Rats!
Missed this thread so I couldn’t post before you got to Ft. Collins.
If you return that way, stop by the Armadillo for the world’s best margartia. Have one for me.
Well, poopoo on stick. I woulda loved to have had lunch with them since I live in C Springs
1635 MT Update.
Purp and retinue are in Albuqerque, will gas up and continue on for Las Cruces. She hopes to be there by 2100 at the latest, and will stop for the night.
At a rest stop her daughter took the kitten out for a walk, which promptly tried to attack a ground squirrel, scaring the raisins out of the little critter; atsa m’boy!
Keep the updates coming VB.
Sorry if I started something when I mentioned the kitten.
