Thanks for bringing back to earth.
I don’t recognize the first person that comes up - he’s apparently a wrestler.
I have a fairly common name, and am surprised by the results.
Fourth listing. I’m a guy. This person is a woman singer-songwriter, and the name is her nickname.
Job Accommodation Network: Never heard of it. Also not a person’s name, so let’s skip it.
Jan Hooks: Well familiar with her.
Jan Brett: Yes. Loved The Mitten.
Jackson Municipal Airport Authority. Interesting, but also not a person.
Jan Hammer. No clue. This does seem to be a person, so I guess I stop here.
Okay, I put in my first name.
The first page of cites hardly mentioned any people at all. Of the few people mentioned, I might have vaguely heard of one of them.
Nearly the entire first page of cites consisted of references to or about two research institutions having my first name as part of their names – Both of which were, furthermore, places where I actually worked years ago. There was also at least one city by that name and one college or university or something.
After several famous people (astronaut, 2 singers, author, astronomer/science popularizer, actor) I arrived at some tech startup/analytics guy, halfway down the google search page. I should know who he is, I know his company, but I don’t know him from a bar of soap.
From the urban dictionary: *michelle’s are often Leo’s, astonishingly gorgeous, very athletic, dark hair and usually curly/waivy/thick, another thing is that almost all Michelle’s have similar noses. *
I’m Aquarius
Not even close to gorgeous
Athletic? It is to laugh!
Dark, thick, curly or wavy hair? Try fine, thin, light brown, straight, meh.
My nose is very straight but otherwise unremarkable.
Who writes this stuff???
Acronymicization is obviously not their strong point in Jackson. I hate that.
Or is your name Jmaa, and the other links were all wrong? :dubious:
It is. Can’t say I recognize your username from anywhere, do I know you?
Mark.
Turns out Mark Zuckerburg is on FaceBook. Who’d a thunk? My urbandictionary definition is spot on, though.
I was just making a joke / taking a guess based on your post. Pleased to meet you, though ![]()
Thank you for the explanation. I kinda sorta figured something along these lines after reading others’ responses, but when I first saw the entry for my name, it really kind of freaked me the hell out.
I used to date a Shari. We are still friends. The urbandictionary definition fits her to a T.![]()
There’s no way for me to say this without sounding like a conceded beeotch, but part of the reason it freaked me out is that it does sound like stuff some of my exes have said (not that I’m saying that about myself). Also, I have been with a couple of Mikes.
“Jim”
First name – Jim Harbaugh, who I have heard of, barely.
2nd name – Jim Halpert, who I’ve never heard of.
3rd name, Jim Chapman, who I’ve never heard of.
My name is a word in various languages. The first link to anything that was any kind of name was an island.
That shouldn’t count, because no man is an island. I’ve met a few peninsulae in my day, however…
Barbara
I just went by the “suggestions” that came up when I typed in the name
Barbara Corcoran was first - surprised me but I recognized the name - she owns a big real estate company ( paid placement, maybe)
Barbara Walters was second - no surprise there
Barbara Stanwyck was third - a little surprising but I know who she is
The fourth one got me
Barbara Bowman------WTF…turns out she’s one of the Cosby accusers
I guess I was mostly surprised that Barbara Bush and Barbara Boxer were so low on the list also some model named Barbara Palvin that I had never heard of came in 5th
Now, when I put my full name into Google I don’t find myself until the 8th page of hits - when I weed out the duplicates there are approximately 30 people that show up before I find myself — apparently there is a pro golfer, a folk musician and a college professor that share my name - the rest were random people that either died or got married.
My name is not particularly common. 10 years ago I when I played this game it was easier to find myself, I was kind of surprised at how far back I was,
I’m female so that’s all right.
