Quasi Dementia Update

The “meat” of it all is on the blog, but what I am about to write, pertains to the Dope and threads I may start or post on/to.

“You ENDED a sentence with TWO prepositions, Dude!”

"Okay! …“Start or post on/to - ASSHOLE:slight_smile:

“That’s better.”

See, within a thread, I might go off on a tangent, and it might make y’all go: .

I always try to re-read and edit, and sometimes I read the post out loud to myself (or my wife) before hitting the SUBMIT button.

But sometimes I’m alone back here in the other bedroom and don’t always check myself, okay?

Okay, there’s that.

Then there’s also misspelled words (typos).

Language fascinates me, and I am very anal when it comes to sentence structure and correct spelling, but lately I have noticed mistakes: words left out, words misspelled and such.

If the edit function lasts long enough, I usually can go back “in” and correct, but sometimes I don’t “make” it, and so they get missed.

I am also “bad” with quotes and parentheses. Meaning I sometimes forget to “close” them.

Commas also are a problem. I sometimes use them when they’re not needed.

Anyway

Please forgive me when you see these things happening.

Thanks!

Quasi

So in other words you are apologizing for typing and posting like 99% of the other people here?

Got it!

This is why I run a spell check and then run it through a text to speech generator. I still can come up with some nonsense. You won’t see me on your case for sentence structure and spelling. You’ll only get a comment that means I want clarification.

I’ve just figured out today that another poster with a similar name has been confusing the heck out of me. Don’t be surprised in the future if I forget this person is out there and asign you something they did.

I’ve apologized a few times and told people I do the best I can so live with it.

Y’all?

We gotta keep it funny!

I won’t be able to make it through this otherwise!

Thanks silenus and thanks Harmonious Discord!

At least I can still remember rto bold names!

Q

Screw em all I says…

Do your best and bump the rest…
here is what a famous figure thinks about this sorta crap…

you just keep posting what you want as best you can…

ROTFLMFAO!

billfish678, that was hilarious, thank you!

The German part of me was hearing the correct words while the American part was cracking up at the subtitles!

That means I can still multi-task!

I need this kinda shit, Y’all!

Keep me laughing (even if it’s at me), because if you don’t, one day I’m not gonna understand you.

This way, (the humor) at least it gives me time to look at it and see it for what it is!

And that helps a lot!

Remember this, if nothing else about me, okay?: I love satire and I LOVE to laugh!

Thanks

Q

Glad you enjoyed it.

Had no idea (or had totally forgotten) that you knew any German. Which probably makes it all the better. Look at the other you tube hitler rants for even more fun. The santa one is my fav.

take care

Blll

Oh…its the SDMB that turned me onto all these hitler rants in the first place.

I know where you’re “comin’ from”, fellow Bill!

:D:D:D

Q

Glad to help!

Could not find the “Santa” one, Bill, but LMAO at all the others, and subscribed.

Again, thanks!

Q

BJ!:)

Where ya’ been, Dude???

Q

Oh, here and there. I am ghost-like. I mean that literally --I am so Irish I can’t hardly be seen in bright sunlight, until I burn up and become like a red giant sun.

  1. Had a repeat sleep study done last week, because the first one turned out to be inconclusive. It will need to be “scored” to determine my amount of apneic episodes. So what that means, is…

  2. It’s going to slow down a decision on my SSDI even further since the scoring takes 2 weeks, but…

  3. I’ve been in touch with SocSec (dontcha just love those military-sounding acronyms?) and they’ve told me that all the other paper-work is in and they’re awaiting a decision. (Wonder if it’ll be a … tribunal? Wouldn’t that be dramatic and worthy of an ABC Movie of The Week?)

  4. Symptom-wise, well, I’ve been having some reasoning issues. Long story short, I know that 2+2+2 = 6, but lately I’ve making that last “2” a “3” and still insist it’s “6”.

You’ll also be seeing more of these numbered posts. That’s because heretofore (my favorite hoity-toity word!:)) words have failed me in speech only, now they’re failing me with the written word.

I can be typing merrily along, knowing what the sentence should be, but then before I get to the end of it, I will lose a word. I italicized heretofore
in the previous paragraph for that reason. I came to a screeching halt and just sat here, rocking back and forth with my eyes closed, till it finally dropped back in.

And that’s one of my favorite words!

So I have found that numbering each paragraph gives me time to “rehearse” what I want to write, look at what I have written (however long it took to write), and then go on to the next numbered thing I want to say.

I have no idea if that is what they teach people like me to do, I just started doing it on my own and it seems to work for me.

  1. Had a (I hope this is the correct terminology. If not, please correct me) spacial disorientation episode on Thanksgiving Day at dinner. I wanted to go out and sit in the swing on the front porch and walked straight into the glass storm door, the main door having been open. Okay, that was bad enough, but then, after I opened it, I stepped out and didn’t notice the little “ledge” across the doorway, and, of course, stubbed my toe.

Because there were children there, and I’m kinda their "funny " Uncle Bill, we all just laughed it off, but yeah, I do bump into things quite often, and if it happens often enough, you wouldn’t want to be in the same room with me if you are easily offended.

  1. Pharmaceutical companies are listed and will be contacted at the end of the year (I have prescription coverage till then) so that I can get in on their “free or reduced” program.

  2. That’s it. Thank y’all for hanging in there with me. You know I appeciate and love you guys so much.

Bill

HUGS Still pulling for ya, Bill & hope to talk to you soon!

Hang in there, I read your blog all the time, you’re like a model of incredibleness in the face of craptasticness.

Just a “Quickie” Update with a little , (leeeetle) bit of “good news” included.

  1. Got another Social Security Disability questionnaire to fill out, and after talking to the Binder&Binder guys, I found out that I shouldn’t be a) mailing anything to SDI and b) I shouldn’t be talking to them on the phone.

Everything gets sent and/or referred to B&B, so I’ve been doing it all wrong on my end.

  1. I have an opportunity to work part-time as an RT again, although it won’t be in an ER/ICU setting. This will be for an agency that provides RT’s for different hospitals when they are short-handed and will be sporadic, but at least it will give me something to do and get some more money coming in. Y’all keep your fingers crossed for me, okay?

  2. I’m doing another bicycle ride (in September) to benefit the Humane Society’s “Spay, Neuter and Adopt” program. Y’all may remember that I did one two years ago when I rode from Dallas, TX back to Dallas, GA? Well this time it’s from Carrollton, TX back to Carrollton, GA (where I now reside) Goota keep the “theme” dontcha know?

At least this time I won’t have as far to ride. Only 769 miles instead of 800!

Also this time, your ol’ pal Quasi won’t be “footing the bill” like I did last time. This time, I’m going to appoint commitees to handle stuff like lodging, food, gas for the van and sponsors. Our first organizational meeting is Monday the first of February. Y’all keep me in your thoughts for that one too, please? This might be the last time I’ll be able to do this. (I ain’t gettin’ no younger nor smarter, ya know!

Thanks

Quasi

Excellent news! Good luck getting gigs!

Thank you, Johnny! You and my other Doper friends have been just terrific to me throught this whole ordeal and read enough of my “Sad-Sackin’”, and I thought it was high time y’all had some good news for a change!

Thanks!

Quasi

Quasi, aside from earning money as a RT (which I’m sure will feel good), I think actually working will be so much better for you, emotionally and psychologically!

Keep talkin’ to those lawyers! The disability folks have a responsibility not to give disability to anyone who doesn’t really need it, and I understand that. But in a case like yours, that’s so clear-cut, WTF is their problem??

Many hugs, prayers and good wishes!
