I’m trying to record only about the first minute of a track on a CD onto a blank CD. I’ve recorded and dubbed plenty of CDs before but have never tried this. I have Easy CD creator 5, or anything else you suggest that I can download. So, I’m sure this is possible, just tell me how.
Total recorder or similar recording program, record what you want and save it. Open it up in easy cd creator and burn it.
Rip the track to a computer and edit the file with some sound editor to only have the first minute in it. Then burn the new file to a music cd.
Audacity is a very nice and free sound editing program, if you need one.
I just did this using iTunes, as well. You can pull up the song info, and set the beginning and end times of the track (as in, set it to start 1 minute into the song, and stop 2.5 minutes into the song, for a total of 1.5 minutes. Just making myself clear). When you burn that track, it only burns that portion. Of course, all my music is already in iTunes, so I didn’t have to do any importing, etc. But, it was quite easy.
I was going to suggest Audacity, but I see Iamthewalrus has beaten me to it. I use it as my production software at home. It’s pretty flexible and free.
