At the bank I go to there is a pretty teller at the drive-up window. I flirt with her when she’s working, but after I finish the transaction that’s it and I don’t stay and talk. The teller has a ring on her left ring finger, but I can’t tell if it’s a wedding ring or not. A friend of mine said that she wears a ring on her left ring finger for no reason, and though she’s not married, she has a boyfriend.
My friend thinks I should go ahead and say something to this teller, or ask her out, even if it looks like she might be married. She said that even if she is married, as long as I’m not a jerk, the teller will appreciate the compliment.
I could use some more advice. Should I mention something about her wearing a ring? Should I just go ahead and ask her out? Should I say a “friend” was wondering? I’d like to do something, and if it doesn’t turn out, I guess I can always go to a different branch.
Oh yeah, I forgot to ask: is there any etiquette that should be observed when asking someone out where they work? Is it strictly off limits? I wouldn’t want to put her in an awkward position and if saying something would do that, then I’ll just keep my mouth shut. Anyway, advice is appreciated.
A lot of people here say that it’s not cool to ask someone out while they’re working. They’re being paid to act like you’re their friend and there’s no reason to think there’s any real attraction.
Personally, I would take it as a huge compliment. But then, I’m not an attractive woman.
Well if she is wearing a ring on her wedding finger and she is not married; shes probably wearing it to ward of guys like you (no offense) to keep them from asking her out.
If it were me I’d just say fuck it and ask her out anyway. And if she gets all uptight and offended than fuck her she wasn’t worth your time anyway.
disclaimer: notice I said offended and not turns you down. if she just turns you down than its all good and better luck next time.
