Quick, what's your current earworm?

Now there’s a good user name and thread combo.

Thanks to Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2, it’s now Fleetwood Mac’s “The Chain”.

Speeding Motorcycle - Yo La Tengo

I didn’t even realize it until I saw this on the menu, and I had to take a moment to run through a bit of it in my head before I could identify it as Zventa Sventana

I mentioned this band above and linked to their heavy dance song about donuts. But, I found a studio interview where they did 3 other dissimilar, but amazing songs:

Inertia and Depression

Curious Eyes

Space Cat

Unfortunately they broke up earlier this year.

Wild Horses

Raise your Horns - Amon Amarth

I heard a Post Modern Jukebox cover of Jolene and now it is stuck

Beatles- I’ve Got a Feeling has been in my head the last few days.

Chris Cornell keeps coming up in my Google play lists since his death, and I have had Like A Stone permanently repeating in my head for more than a week now.

Best Coast - “Boyfriend”

I don’t know what kicked it off, but this one has been on repeat for a few days. Any Day Now by Ronnie Milsap. I don’t mind too much, it’s a pretty good old song.

“Crazy for You” by Madonna. I heard it somewhere recently and it’s planted itself pretty well in my cortex.

“Mr. Brightside” by The Killers. I heard a snippet on NPR this morning and it’s moved into my brain. Thanks, NPR.

Have You Seen Her, by the Chi-lites

I've always tried so hard to like this song, but there is just something missing from what should have been a classic. Still haunting.

“Baby Driver,” by Simon and Garfunkel.

I’ve just recently become a big Pogues fan, so any number of their hooks can pop up unbidden at any time. Right now it’s “A Pair of Brown Eyes”.

Nothing at all wrong with that. I get Haunted, A Rainy Night in Soho, etc. in my head a lot.

OTOH, this morning it was Happy, Happy, Joy, Joy from Ren and Stimpy.

Life takes odd turns.

“The Year of the Cat,” by Al Stewart.

Dylan, “Shelter from the Storm.” I read his Nobel lecture this morning, so naturally all sorts of Dylan songs have been running through my head.

He discusses the musical and especially the literary influences on his songwriting. He describes a passage from Moby Dick that could practically be peak Dylan:

[QUOTE=Bob Dylan]
A Quaker pacifist priest, who is actually a bloodthirsty businessman, tells Flask, “Some men who receive injuries are led to God, others are led to bitterness.”
