Quick, what's your current earworm?

I’m really late to this, but a friend recently emailed me the link to “SEAGULLS! (Stop It Now)” and I cannot get it out of my head (and I’m pretty okay with that).

I was pulling weeds in our gardens this weekend, and the song was a welcome accompaniment to that activity.

Odd turns is right- a few years ago I got the theme song for the old Little Lulu cartoons so stuck in my head that I almost contemplated suicide, it was that bad.

I’ve got an odd one the last couple days.

Lying in bed Sat. morning I composed a bit of a pop song in my head.

It’s still there. Nice little song. But quite pop-ish.

And I did this to myself.

“Fantastic Man” by William Onyeabor. SO DAMNED CATCHY.

“Straight On For You”. Because I have a tin ear and for decades had no idea what the lyrics actually were, or who sung the song other than it sounded like the same person who sang “Barracuda”. I finally decided to look it up.

Mr. Sun by Raffi, from reading an SDMB thread that included discussion on whether the sun is white or yellow.
mmm

I’ll be singing (mentally) Baby Beluga by Raffi now. Thanks.

Raffi was my daughter’s first concert. On the way home that night, she was so amped up. Knowing I liked Eric Clapton, she found a CD of his, put it in, and made me sing along with her and Eric.

Heard this oldie on a net radio show 6 days ago, so 6 days and counting…

Heard this on ***Heartbeat ***the other night, and stayed up until 02:00 to catch the repeat. Then I did a lyrics search until I identified the artist and title:

Because this thread is now immediately adjacent to the thread about the death of Glen Campbell, “Rhinestone Cowboy”.

It wasn’t me who started that ole crazy Asian war/
But I was proud to go and do my patriotic chore…

The Ballad of John and Yoko

Linda Ronstadt - “Heat Wave”

This one.

Bitter metallic side by Kalmah. Weird symphonic/power/regular metal combination. Does have the cookie monster sort of vocals that I am not fond of, but in a good way where I can still make out what the singer is saying. Very energizing and pretty unique.

Glen Campbell - Gentle on my Mind

(I watched “I’ll Be Me” last night).
mmm

Neil Diamond’s “Solitary Man”

Missing You

which if you have to have an earworm this isn’t such a bad one to have

Long Time Gone by Darrell Scott

I was familiar with the Dixie Chicks version, but didn't know it was a cover until recently.

Yes - that’s a great one. Throw Alison Krauss into the mix and it’s even better - https://youtu.be/eu3AyVLTmlY
