At the moment, it’s a swing/blues version of Billy Joel’s “I Go To Extremes” that I just heard at Olive Garden (might have been Tony Bennett).
Bach, Partita #1 in B-flat, Prelude, Glenn Gould. Just noticed it “playing” a few minutes ago.
A song parody of “Carrying the Banner” from Newsies. My friend wrote it and I’m going to be in his show and have been practicing endlessly. My brain’s been switching back and forth from the original to the parody for most of the day.
Thank you. It replaced “Midnight at the Oasis,” by Maria Muldaur, which sprung into my head for no apparent reason while I was leaving from the grocery store. My earworms are stupid and annoying and ever-present.
This one came up in conversation with Zoe as we were waxing nostalgic yesterday.
Check out the YouTube comments if it sounds a tad familiar – and if your are nine days older than dirt!
You Don’t Have To Be A Baby To Cry by Tennessee Ernie Ford on Mono 1955 Capitol 45.

Break a leg!
sadly, the theme to Petticoat Junction.
People ask me why I rarely listen to music. Well, it’s because I have a steady stream of amazing variety stuck in my head. Tonight’s was stuff I like–dance music from the Renaissance. I once survived an entire year of “I’m an Old Cow Hand from the Rio Grand.”
I always wondered about Unle Joe.
I hear he is not moving in haste.
mmm
I always suspected him of duggaring.

luckily, he was moving kinda slow
…at the junction
He was the one afraid to cut the cake.
Hanni El Khatib - “Melt Me”
Just something from the radio that’s stuck in my head. But after reading this thread, now “Hey Ya” (which I heard on the radio last night) is competing for space.
Now it’s Coven’s version of One Tin Soldier.
Yes that is sad. I’m so sorry for you. Sometimes a mention of a song I know will plant an earworm. Thankfully this isn’t one of those times.
Now playing, an old Mink DeVille song - “Just To Walk That Little Girl Home”.
I came up in iPod shuffle mode earlier this week, lay dormant for a few days, then just reappeared in my head today.
mmm
“Take the Skinheads Bowling” by Camper Van Beethoven.
Seriously, I don’t know why it’s there. It just churned up from my subconscious.
Fritz Kreisler’s *Liebeslied.

It continues, even though I’ve been playing Khachaturian all day (it’s his birthday).
Believe it or not, it’s Maroon 5’s This Summer’s Gonna Hurt Like a Motherfucker.
