Alice Cooper - Only Women Bleed
Angelica brought her ray gun to the party
Angelica obliterated everybody
Thanks to the SD, I became aware of them from this thread and got a chance to see them live a couple weeks ago here in Chicago. Great fun! (And my first concert since 2019!) Full album drops in a few weeks.
I’ve been listening to this a lot lately - great guitar work by David Gilmour, formerly of Pink Floyd.
Though this world’s essentially an absurd place to be living in
It doesn’t call for total withdrawal
I’ve been told it’s a fact of life
Men have to kill one another
Well I say there are still things worth fighting for
La Resistance!
Good God. I’m falling down the Stereolab rabbit hole, and somehow, I’ve never heard the album version of Jenny Ondioline:
“Give me the strength, the lift, hope, and struggle
We got to keep the lift, hope, and struggle
Where is the lift, the hope, and the struggle?
We got to keep the lift, hope, and struggle””
I mean, totally riffing on Neu!, but oh … so … good … if you’re into the whole droning noise-rock kind of thing.
A few nights ago got an IG alert that May Erlewine started a live video so I tuned in.
She’s a singer songwriter from Michigan just released a new album and was recovering from a bad cold where she lost her voice. Wednesday night she felt better and sang a few tunes and took requests. It was a rainy night you could hear it hitting the windows, so cozy inside listening to a private concert and her voice sounded amazing!
Her song Easy is happily occupying my brain.
This thread has generated more earworms than anything else … Now I’ll have the entire “King of the Road” song stuck in my head for days, with another dozen all at the same time…
Ohhh, great! That reminded me of the theme to Peg + Cat (sung “Peg plus Cat”), an artsy “kids’ show” that I just happened on …once! …years ago! So now that’s running through my head… (at least it’s impossible to be sad now).
^ Wow, I’d forgotten all about that! Haw-haw, indeed. Thanks for posting that!
I came across this a few days ago and am still greatly impressed after multiple viewings. Notice that his right-hand nails are very long and his tone is nonetheless perfectly warm and clean. Some of the best playing I’ve ever seen/heard:
ETA: Composition by Django Reinhardt, interpreted by Salvatore Fortunato. Because they deserve credit and they have cool names.
A true friend posted this on FB recently, & now I’m queing it up 4a listen every 2-3days & letting it sing thru my mind 4tthe rest of the day. A 1hit wonder but OMFG, shot full of positives energy & joy, made for “good vibes” back in 1969 !
never mind
Kodachrome — Simon and Garfunkel.

When I think back on all the crap I learned in high school…
Dave Brubeck - Take Five.
Somehow I got on a Hollies kick, and ended up with a couple of their tunes alternating. It wasn’t the worst earworm I’ve ever had.
