…and it just changed…
"Keep away old man, you won't fool me You and your history won't rule me! You might have been a fighter, but admit you failed, I'm not affected by your blackmail...! You won't blackmail me...." :DWho is Frank Miller?
Sung by Frankie Laine:

*Do not forsake me, oh my darlin’
On this, our weddin’ day
Do not forsake me, oh my darlin’
Wait, wait along
I do not know what fate awaits me
I only know I must be brave
And I must face a man who hates me
Or lie a coward, a craven coward
Or lie a coward in my grave
Oh, to be torn ‘tweenst love and duty
Supposin’ I lose my fair-haired beauty
Look at that big hand move along
Nearin’ high noon
He made a vow while in state prison
Vowed it would be my life or his
An’ I’m not afraid of death but oh
What will I do if you leave me?
Do not forsake me, oh my darlin’
You made that promise as a bride
Do not forsake me, oh my darlin’
Although you’re grievin’, don’t think of leavin’
Now that I need you by my side
Wait along, wait along
(Wait along)
Wait along, wait along
(Wait along, wait along)
(Wait along, wait along, wait along)*
I ain’t Frank Miller. Don’t shoot me dead.
Back to the Island by Leon Russell.
Ballad of Dwight Fry - Alice Cooper
Marian the Librarian from The Music Man, alternating with It’s a Fine Life from Oliver!. I watched musicals this weekend.
StG
An oldie but a goodie - Non più andrai, getting stuck in people’s heads since 1786.
I saw *The Marriage of Figaro *on July 5.
In the aeroplane over the sea by Neutral Milk Hotel. I heard it in the car yesterday and it’s been stuck ever since.
Van Morrison’s Moon Dance:
Well, it’s a marvelous night for a Moondance
With the stars up above in your eyes
A fantabulous night to make romance
'Neath the cover of October skies
The main bad dude in High Noon.
Played by Ian MacDonald (1914–1978)
Darn you!
That song Always reminds me of the Fall, when the winds are starting to shift before winter.
The old WNEW used to play that song on nights when the dry leaves overhead rustled on their branches and the wind seems to say, “C’mon! I Dare you…!”
Today it’s Yesterday - The Beatles.
Heard it at a funeral today. Better than getting a local ad jingle in my head for days. The worst - it’s like a parasite!
The way you love me, Faith Hill.
Specifically, this part:
*You’re the million reasons why
There’s love reflecting in my eyes
*
And I hate this song - it’s one that I actively change the station if it comes on the radio. Ugh.
"At the Banana Cabana,
Your pants won’t be missed!
Al-most Naaaked Animals!"
[If you don’t recognise it, count yourself lucky.]
Yes, it has to be in capslock.
When I was young, it seemed that life was so wonderful,
A miracle, oh it was beautiful, magical.
And all the birds in the trees, well they’d be singing so happily,
Joyfully, playfully watching me.
But then they send me away to teach me how to be sensible,
Logical, responsible, practical.
And they showed me a world where I could be so dependable,
Clinical, intellectual, cynical.
I’ve been humming “Daddy Could Swear (I Declare)” ever since I heard it on my shuffle this morning on the way to work.
“Somebody That I Used to Know” by Gotye. I have it in my head after watching a Game of Thrones parody video called “A Character I Used to Know.”
After about three weeks of Abba’s Chiquitita, I’m in another brief lull.
Yeah, when I get an ear worm, I get it good.
Well, it was Madness by Muse. I’ve been listening to that while I run - it’s actually an excellent running song. After I started typing it switched to Counting Stars by One Republic. Then I unfortunately scrolled down before hitting submit. Thanks to TreacherousCretin, I now have “Zip-a-Dee-Doo-Dah” stuck in my head. Dammit. Fortunately my earworms wander off when distracted by shiny, new earworms. But that means I could have a very ugly new earworm stuck in there.
