Playing on the mental jukebox this morning is “Don’t Dream It’s Over” by Crowded House. (Hey now hey now…) I seem to have heard that song several times recently while in the car and now it’s stuck there for a while.
The “Between the Lions” theme
“What’s Up”
time to die
The Loreena McKennitt version.
I’ll be out shopping and a song will play on the PA system that will stick with me the rest of the day. Today it’s “Every Little Kiss” by Bruce Hornsby and the Range.
I like that song but my favorite by Mr. Hornsby is the lesser-known “Across the River.”
Good god, right now mine is “Love Plus One” by Haircut 100. I heard part of it on the Sirius First Wave channel yesterday, and it’s been following me around ever since.
Dueling Earworms!* I keep switching back and forth between Daydream Believer (thanks to this YouTube video) and Linger by the Cranberries. The latter is kind of hard to explain. I’ve been watching episodes of Community lately. There’s a bit in S02E01 where a singer comes in singing the song (more or less). So I have a combo of the original (music and lyrics) but with that singer’s voice.
* “Talk about your …”
The one that Khan put in Chekhov.
…what?
“The Love I Lost,” great 70s R&B from Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes. Must’ve heard it somewhere and it stuck.
If the earworm is the lyrics, then God help you. On the other hand, if it’s the sax that’s pretty good.
Thats What Makes You Beautiful
by One Direction
Heheh, my brain works through the whole song eventually, but it’s mostly fixated on the horn melody before the chorus and the chorus. Still going on, I really need to work it out of there.
Thanks to another thread, I’m currently cursed with “Constantinople” by Al Stewart.
Stray Cat Strut! But just random lines:
I strut right by with my tail in the air.
Stray cat strut, I’m ladies cat
I’m a feline Casanova, hey…
Get my dinner from a garbage can.
But I got cat class and I got cat style.
Dead Man’s Party by Oingo Boingo.
The Dead South’s “In Hell I’ll Be In Good Company.”
I put on a “Belly - Feed the Tree” YouTube generated playlist last Friday night and The Cranberries “Linger” has been stuck in my head since (just about to go to bed after Monday).
I’ve been doing Pat Benatar in the car lately. (Wait, let me rephrase that …)
Lots of good songs, but the Worm of The Ear decided on So Sincere. First thing this morning I finally transitioned to Heartbreaker. I thought to myself: “Great, at least I don’t have So Sincere running thru my head anymore.”
Oops. That was a mistake. Bad Worm. Very bad Worm.
