Whenever I post a quote from somewhere else, and use the “quote” icon at the top of the reply box, it doesn’t include anything past the first blank line in the quoted text. In other words, if I’m trying to quote 3 paragraphs only the first paragraph makes it into the post.
If I manually use the <QUOTE> </QUOTE> tags it will happily take multiple paragraphs. Is this a bug in VB or something that can be fixed by a setting somewhere?
Okay, WAG on my part. The quote coding must read something in the end of line statement/end of paragraph statement that it translates into the end of the quote. Doesn’t the system try to automatically close coding tags? Perhaps that closing tag is hard wired into the end of line.
I just tried it and got the same result you did, so I would assume that to fully incorporate a quote into your post, you would have to do it manually. Which I didn’t think about before, because I’m so used to doing it that way, I just sail right past those helpful little icons.
So, someone who really knows come in and correct me, okay? 'Cause now I want to know.

I’m 99% certain that this used to work - I have a feeling that it’s something that broke in the upgrade.
Another easy way to do it though is to paste the text, highlight it, then click on the Quote button - it will automatically stick tags at the beginning and end of the highligted section.
No, it didn’t work before the upgrade either. I’ll have to try the other little trick, though.
