Jesus said: “…But when you enter a town and are not welcomed, go into its streets and say, ‘Even the dust of your town that sticks to our feet we wipe off against you. Yet be sure of this: The kingdome of god is near…’ I tell you, it will be more bearable on the day for Sodom than for that town.”

Figuratively speaking, that “town” is this board.

God bless.

Good bye.

There is a reason for everything, no matter what happens to us.

Victoria, several of us have been welcomed. Several of us are hanging around. What happened with you?

When I see how brutal people are to my faith in Jesus Christ, and how they put Him down, it angers me. If you’ve been welcomed, that’s fine. But, some of the people that have been here for a while and claim to be Christians certainly don’t act like it. I’m just saying that my work is done here. If they want to suffer God’s wrath, which they most certainly will, and go to hell (See Rev. 20:11-15), then so be it. I’ve tried witnessing, which is NOT against the rules of this board, although they say “if you feel you must,” which comes across to me as being just a LITTLE offensive. They’ve made their decision. They’ll have to live with it for all of eternity. I’ve been called over to this board for a period of time. On Sunday, while at church, the Lord spoke to me and gave me the verses Luke 10:10-11, which is what I quoted in my first post on this thread. I just didn’t get around to posting it until this morning. I follow the Lord’s leading in every aspect of my life. He has now called me away from this board, and I won’t be posting any more.

As I’ve said before, good bye.

God bless.

P.S. It is my prayer that ALL of you will seek Jesus Christ. After all, as Revelation 3:10 says, “Here I am! I stannd at the door and knock. If anyonee hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat eat with him, and he with me.” He’s standing at the door of your heart. All you have to do is let Him in.

There are many of you who claim to be Christians, you know who you are. You may go to church, but, as GodlyGuy said, God knows your heart. If you go to church just to go, or if it’s a habit, and you don’t really want to go, you’re not learning anything. You REALLY need to accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior. This is NOT something to fool around with.

I know I will get some bashing from some of you for saying the things I’ve said, but, who cares? You’re not really bashing me, you’re bashing my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. So, when you start bashing any of us from the LBBB, please remember who you are really bashing - Jesus Christ.

There is a reason for everything, no matter what happens to us.

Fine. Mr. Christ may consider himself bashed, then.

I do not consider myself a Christian—or religious at all—but can say that I am grateful that less-wild-eyed religious people than you have logged onto this board. They, not you, have given me a much more complimentary view of what religious people can be like. I’ll hang out with Navigator, CMKeller, ARG, Snark, etc., any day.

But you and Godly Guy and your tunnel-visioned ilk will please go away and leave the rest of us to converse like adults?

My dear Victoria:

Leave if you wish. Or stay. But whatever you do, learn the compassion of Jesus.

I have been witnessing here for four months now, and have never been slammed for it (aside from one exchange when Satan thought I was being judgmental, which we cleaned up in a hurry). The point is that I post from a Christian perspective with love and respect for my fellow man (or woman), and an attempt to understand how s/he feels and what s/he thinks.

I have friends on this board who are atheists. I listen and understand what they are saying, and discuss their questions with reason and compassion. You appear ready to relegate them to Hell for not taking some Bible quote you rattle off and changing their entire world view because you happened to type it in. I have friends here who are gay. On another thread (which I refuse to post the cite to) you decided to post how God hates homosexuals. You will find, if you stick around, that one of the most despised individuals alive, as far as anyone on this board goes, is Fred Phelps. You come in, play the Pharisee, and then flounce out with a “I’m not appreciated here.” You’re right. But if you choose to be a witness to the God who so loved the world that He sent His only Son that atheists, gays, and all the rest of us might have eternal life, please stay and show them what a real Christian can be.

If you’re still lurking and reading…
Can I suggest that you go back and look at what attitude you were sporting when you came here? You find the “if you feel you must” offensive? I don’t. I witness because I feel I must. I humbly suggest that you came here looking to be insulted and slammed, and so you were. How many honest conversations have you actually tried to start? Have you tried to get to know any of these people? Or have you just thrown out scripture and let them come to their own conclusions? GG has an excuse. He’s 13. He’s young, and he’s learning. You have to show some willingness to listen to people before they can be expected to listen to you. Just a word of advice. Take it or leave it. You can go back to whatever it is that you were doing now…

You have?! Dammit, you slipped it by me. Now I’m going to have to slam you a bit… As if I don’t have enough things to do… Sheesh.

To the extent that Jesus said “As you did it to one of these, the least of my brethren, you did it to me.” you may have a point.

On the other hand, this Forum is clearly marked for the rough and tumble exchange of ideas and emotions. If you are willing to present and defend your position in a coherent fashion, you can get beyond the personality issues. If not, well. . .

Go in peace.

Tom~

Good bye. I hope this means you will have more time to devote to your studies in math and logic.

Isn’t the Seattle Kingdome being torn down?

I NEVER said that God hates homosexuals. I said that He hates the PRACTICE! There IS a difference you know!

They way that the “if you feel you must” is worded an in the context of the rest of the sentence is why I feel it was offensive.

Besides, to all the members of the SDMB who were going over to the LBBB, I have read all of the things you said when you came back over here. Someone said that you were just “engaging in some debate.” Some of the “debate” that I read was more like antagonizing.

I have TRIED to show compassion to you guys over here, and each and every one of you (almost) have put me down. I don’t care what you think of me. I don’t care what anyone thinks of me, aside from God. I do what is right in HIS eyes. Not yours.

One day, though, none of this is going to matter.

God bless.

Ummmmm, who said you did? Well, far be it from me to try to convince you to stay somewhere where you don’t want to be. See ya, and God bless!

Victoria,

I have stayed away from most of your postings. Not exactly sure why, but now I feel I need to say something to you.

I have not been a part of the LBMB, and looked at it, not my cup of tea.

However, I think from an outsiders perspective, you have proven to hide behind the quotes and biblical references rather than explain why you THINK your way is better.

I am a Theist. I have spent a lot of time researching all forms of religion and even my family is very Christian. I see some of the words that are written in the bible as somthing to ponder, however much of it is maddening and gives people fear of God rather than living for a loving and caring God.

I can safely say that there has been only one time that someone in my family has taken a quote from the bible and read it to me. This never was meant as a means to “make me see the light” but a loving reference.

Rather than hide behind the quotes, it would make sense to offer more insight. This is wear the term Bible-Beaters come to mind.

It may be time for you to remember that you have helped fuel the consenus that most Christians are Bible-Beaters. I know different because my family loves me regardless of my religious views.

Just my thoughts.

opinion - a belief held often without positive knowledge or proof.

oppress - to burden harshly, unjustly, or tyrannically.

don’t oppress my ability to have an opinion

My post is fraught with typos and misspellings…dang, hate to post when I am in a hurry!

I guess that I could be wrong, but aren’t threads with no questions supposed to be posted in MPSIMS?

See those stars over there? That is the Little Dipper. I’d show you the Big Dipper, but my zipper is stuck.

Darn it, Beer! You beat me again.

Well, yes. But obviously it is the Kingdome of God. How else could the Seaturkeys make it into the playoffs?

-andros-

there did seem to be some divine guidance in the Seahawks death and re-birth into the playoff picture…

Or was it just karma, given the instant reply snafu last year.

Peace.

oh… and GO SEAHAWKS!!!

UncleBeer - isn’t it obvious?? The Seattle KingDome is beig torn down, along with all false kingdomes everywhere, so that only the true KingDome of God will remain. Doesn’t it make you rejoice that you have lived to see this day?
