I’m grieved to discover we lost him. The thread he started about his cancer diagnosis coincided with my own, and his sense of humor and complete lack of self-pity were just what I needed.

I… I am horrible at dealing with death. It will be months before I even begin to deal with this.
Ken was a friend, in many of his several guises off the board and on. He shared some of his writings with me, and we talked about the things we had in common, from family troubles, to wonderment at the world.
I was a pretty crappy friend, though. I - I shouldn’t get into it here and now, but simply put I never was able to overcome my reclusiveness to be able to really keep in touch with him. And so I never got to say goodbye, to let him know how much he meant to me.
