Man, its like just because I am a white rapper… its like i have to work twice as hard to get fans and respect… what up wit dat? Here’s a sample:
Wow! You pitted yourself.
It is NEVER Open Mike Night at the SDMB. Nor is it “Advertise for Free” day. If you have a genuine complaint, then go ahead and pit it. Do not attempt to build up an audience on this message board.

For the Straight Dope
I’m thinking that it isn’t because you’re white… it’s because you don’t know how to pick a target audience.
Trying to sell your own rap on a site like this is a prime example.
I’m a black guy, but I pretty much despise rap music.
It could be because you spelled “discrimination” wrong…
or maybe your rap just sucks.
Maybe you should try stand-up comedy. You can rip off Rodney Dangerfield.
So… do you have to work twice as hard or is it only like that?
Word, brother. As another white rapper trying to get his career off the ground, I just think it’s a huge shame that a nation as large and diverse as our own cannot find it in their hearts to accept even a single white rapper over the past two decades of hip-hop.
Not a single one of them. No white rapper in this nation has ever achieved a smidgen of respect, commercial success, or critical acclaim. For shame.
I tried the rap game, but couldn’t get a hit
so I opened up a thread in the BBQ pit
It not that my rhymes are weak
or my beats are too thin
I just know it’s all about the color of my skin
No one can convince me, it’s to the contrary
that what I really need is a Ryhme Dictionary
So now you know what it’s like to see through these eyes
I should call Eminem, Vanilla Ice, and the Beastie Boys…and apologize.
OP,
So which profile on your website is yours?
Whoa, check out his profile:
Or “that” . . .
I don’t know… Third Bass!
Dude, if Weird Al can get respect for rapping, anyone can. The trick is to do it straight, from the heart, and from the gut. Don’t front. Don’t pose.
And so what if you have to work twice as hard to get respect? It just means that if you have the talent, when you break, you break big.
::sincere applause::
Personally, were I the OP, I might aim more at simply being a “rapper”.
If the colour of your skin comes before your presumed occupation as a rapper even in YOUR head, you can’t be that good at it.
chill out wit the spell check… so I spelled discrimination wrong, so what… look at the name of this site: straight dope… thats broken english too… so why must i spell correctly in a damned website forum… i think most of you guys hate on me cus i am white and I happen to rap… and whoever that lynn lady is… she is the number 1 hater… she sensored (spelled wrong?) my rap. Kid, I hope for your sake you’re just a pathetic Internet troll pretending to be a loser.
Yo, hoimes: your rap is copyright now. Copyright 2006 The Chicago Reader. All Rights Reserved. You posted it here. They own it now. Reed the roolz. And grow up, maybe.
I hate you because you are an idiot. That you also “rap” is just a bonus.
If you don’t want people to look at your profile, don’t have one.
