RAIN already, will ya? (no offense, aha)

Lots of thunder, lots of lightning, and then…nothing.

Stupid weather reminds me of some men I’ve dated.

Did you get any rain last night? We got enough to make most of the flowers in our yard quite happy, but someone we know across the river by Talahi got nothing to speak of.

Nope, just dribbles…

Go look out your window towards Alexandria, Spider - fantastic light show going on right now

We were using NetZero and got bumped off; just reconnected with the Qwest software that has been setting around here for a couple of weeks. (When my daughter moved to NY, she took her Earthlink connection with her.)

Anyway, I’m back. The show was truly wonderful, what I saw of it while I wasn’t on the phone with Qwest support. And we also got more rain, fairly heavy but for only a short time. When I was still employed at VE, I would notice it would often have rained there but not here, and vice versa.

Probably more information than you wanted.

Talk to ya later!

The weather here? Lightning, thunder, big winds, rain, hail, more rain, a little more hail. Then it stopped for about 15 minutes. Now, it’s raining again. :frowning:

Now we’re back to a downpour and a little more hail.

[sub]Elapsed time: Less than 5 minutes.[/sub]

Oh, now it stopped completely. Strange weather. Wow, now it’s not even windy anymore. Hmmm…

I don’t like rain anymore.

Rain what’s that? I think once upon a time I saw rain, but now I don’t remember…

Seems like the hail and really big storms have escaped us here for the past year or so. It’s almost as if weather systems split and go around us on either side. The summer has been very dry, and there are many brown lawns. Any rain we get here is welcome.

Yup, I agree. My parents live 3 miles south of Gilman and get rain all the time. And that’s only…what, 12 miles out of town? I don’t think we received 1/10" last night :frowning:

Yeah, the lawn still looks really dry here too. But it is nice and cool and holds the promise of being really gorgeous day.

I’ve been outside a little bit; it’s still too early for those sleepy-head morning glories.

That year we got all the snow and the park across from VE was flooded almost to the road when it melted, did y’all have problems? That was one of the years that I found tiny snapping turtles up by the sidewalk in that park later when the water had gone down; probably their egg clutch got displaced or something(?).

The last time there was a lot of snow here I was in Hawaii, so I can’t answer that - the last 2 winters I’ve been back have been extraordinarily mild and relatively snow-free.

Uptown Minneapolis pipping up here.

Heeelloow fellow Minnesotans!

What gets me is not so much the rain and storms, in my opinion, I thought we got off pretty easy this summer, but the wild temperature swings that have been happening in recent years.

What happened to Spring and Fall? It goes from friggid to hot and vice versa in a day. That’s fun.

I literally went from having the A.C. whirring away 24/7 for a week to trying to find where the space heater was in only the course of a day. What the Hell is this?

My last months electric bill was, let me look here, $83.46! Sheeeshhh.

I like a change in seasons for Chrise’s sake, not this all or nothing furnace or freezer crap.

My $.02.

The storm last night? Missed us completely.

Chris, did the storm the night before hit you? It was quite thunderous here that night.

(Can ya believe it, that we can stretch a topic like the weather this far?)

Spider, honey, we’re in Minnesota - we can talk about the weather for DAYS - you know that

Cnote - that’s why I like it here. One of the reasons I hated HI is that the weather was the same nearly 365 days a year.

<hijack>

You’re in Uptown? I love that area! I have some friends who used to live on Lagoon…

</hijack>

Or can anyone get in.

No rain here in 70 days. Geezz it’s almost biblical in nature.

Sandy- One-half block off of Lagoon, my dear.

Spider- I didn’t personally see much of a storm. I’d had a couple, had the headphones blasting, and was deep into burning some CD’s and configuring my computer. I did hear and see the blurbs on the tube about the storm, but it looked like it moved off to the North.

I’m signing off for now, heading out for the game. Bloody Mary’s, a couple screwdrivers, some good eats, Mmmmmmm.

I’ll check back later.

I know, aha, I’m sorry :frowning: But I thought of you when I started this.

aha, that makes our dry spell seem quite minor.

Aha…are you from Oklahoma?
