I thought this was just a joke, on The Daily Show or The Colbert Report (forget which one), but according to the IMDB, Rambo IV is actually in pre-production. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0462499/

Jeez, what’s Stallone thinking? He didn’t embarrass himself enough with II and III?

I also heard a rumor about a new Rocky movie, but there’s nothing about it on IMDB.

Hollywood is no longer scraping the bottom of the barrel. They are now digging out chunks of it and serving them to us on a platter.

Well, three more Rambo movies and the Alien Nation movie will finally be timely.

Of course, it should really be Rambo III*. So far the movies have been:

First Blood
Rambo: First Blood Part II
Rambo III.

So there was never a Rambo II. Rambo III should have been, I guess, Rambo II: First Blood Part III, which would make the new movie Rambo III: First Blood Part IV. I blame Francis Coppola for this, as for so many things.

Let me scare people here. But the rough treatments mentioned there could turn into good stories. An aging champion coming to grips with middle age could be good.
