Awesome, Bunny! Bet that’s a load of your chest. Let’s have a 2-4 to celebrate, eh!

Hey, ya’ll come up! We’ll hit the Silver Dollar Saloon and I’ll buy! (Honest!). If I have 4 drinks, I’ll be dancing funny, but it’ll be worth the laughs…I’m such a lightweight! You’ll have to dance with me, Strainger, if ya come!

A round for the house on BG!

Superultramegawhopping congrats BG!

Veni, Vidi, Visa … I came, I saw, I bought.

Last week, I moved from my nice happy college house that I’ve lived in for two years and three months. I’m now crashing with one of my former roommates until my apartment opens up on the 16th. After that, I’ll be living alone. Can’t wait.

Moving was a bitch, though, mainly because we had to move out during Ohio State’s finals week. So I was packing, studying, writing a research paper, taking tests, writing up a project, and moving heavy boxes and furniture within a week-long span. I got about five hours of sleep and three meals from the 29th to the 1st. And I still managed a 3.85 this quarter. Sometimes, I don’t know how I do it.

The magazine I’ve been slaving over since winter quarter is going to be on the stands in two or three weeks. I just saw the blue line copy from the printer–looks great! Once it’s out, the remainder of the staff who made it to the end (all two of us) and our advisor are going out to a nice, posh meal, paid for by the state. I plan to eat sushi until I burst.

Okay, that’s about it. I would have posted this in smaller installments, but as you can imagine, I’ve been a bit busy.

Good job, Drain. Bet you’re exhausted, but feeling awfully damn good about yourself.

Cuttin’ a rug with the BunnyGirl - I’m there!

Thanks to all for the congrats! My boss actually took it very well, so that’s a relief.

Drain, congrats to you on the excellent GPA especially with everything you’ve been going through! Eat some sushi for me! Yummers…I love that stuff!

Everyone has good news!

I knew you’d get it BunnyGirl! Congratulations on the raise. I hope the new job is more interesting for you.

Way to go Drain Bead! Does that work out to two As and two A minuses? I would have been tempted to say straight As with that record. When I was in school, people kept warning me how tough the real world would be. I have yet to see the “real” world come close the stress levels of being in school, and I was never even faced with the horror of moving during finals week.

I spent four years prostrate to the higher mind, got my paper and I was free.

I finally successfully broke up with my evil scary creepy boyfriend of the last year. It looks like he actually might leave me alone this time.

Whoo hoo! single at last!

Gotta give the girl credit…she keeps on trying!

Tell us about the creepy ex boyfriend.

Congrats BunnyGirl!

It’s bernard, just under new management

And from my handy dandy nifty saying file …

For you BunnyGirl:

“Good luck is another name for tenacity of purpose.” - author unknown

“Make a success of living by seeing the goal and aiming for it unswervingly.” - Cecil B. DeMille

“A wise (wo)man will make more opportunities than he finds.” - Francis Bacon

Congratulations again!

I’ve gotten a fabulous choclate mocha cake recipe that i am going to make this weekend.

I’m leaving work early to blast some loud music and bake!

Don’t let the loveless ones sell you a world wrapped in grey.

I have been having trouble with my computer for a few weeks now. I finally broke down yesterday and got a new one. There is way too much catching up to do now! I wanted to start with this thread because it seemed like a good place to make a little announcement–I am DATING!!! Can you believe it? Me, the crazy old cat lady, has finally re-entered the world of dating. For the last four weeks or so I have been going out with a doctor I used to work with. (Not the same one I had written about several months ago.) It isn’t anything serious yet, but for the first time in a long time, I am enjoying some male companionship. I may even have to renew my membership in the Slut Club! (For those of you that remember that little running gag.)

I’m having a little bit of a problem.

My brother bought a kitten from the pet store last week. Her name is Oreo because she has white fur in the middle and black fur on the top and bottom.

She used to be all nice and playful with me, but now all Oreo wants to do to me is attack my legs and stratch up my hands or feet that are close to her.

I think Oreo hates me. :frowning: My brother says that it’s normal for kittens to be really rough in the first couple of weeks, but I don’t believe it. Anyone out there know how I can get Oreo to be more friendly to me?

Kittens like to play rough. It is how they would play with their littermates. When playing with your kitten, don’t use your hads as toys (waving them in the cats face, enouraging him to grab your hads and wrestle). Provide lots of appropriate toys as well as a good scratching post. Don’t yell and try to punish your kitten, it will ony cause him to be afraid of you.

One more thing, please take the kitten to the vet as soon as possible for a check up and booster vaccines.

Cover yourself in catnip

Michelle - glad to see you back, I had wondered what happened to you! BTW, my male kitten loves to chew on things, especially paper - I bought him a turkey flavored Nylabone yesterday!

My news - I am getting liposuction done on my stomach & back Thursday. I am so excited (and scared - all of those “this could happen” warnings that I had to sign are frightening) I’m also half past ready to get it over with, because I’ve put off getting a new job or a boyfriend until it’s over & I’m past the worst of the recovery. I’ll be off for a week & I don’t think I’ll be able to drive much, so I plan on (among other things) organizing & cataloging my Smithsonian magazines. Be prepared for lots of posts on old threads as I come across apropo articles.

Hurray, Michelle is back! I’m glad it was just computer glitches keeping you out of the game. Congratulations on the new boyfriend too!

Oh good, so it is normal behavior for kittens to act like that.

:frowning: Now I have another problem with Oreo. She has fleas! How do I get rid of them without wetting her? (She goes absolutely berserk when a drop of water hits her.)
