Interesting thread. However it seems to me that there’s really two questions here. First, is the rape porn real or fake? And second, is it “okay” to have rape fantasies or be turned on by rape porn at all?
Now, question one seems to be pretty easy. Obviously, if there is such a thing as “okay” rape porn, it probably is only okay if it’s fake. I don’t think there’s much controversy in that statement.
The second is more difficult, maybe, and it leads me to a hypothetical question. Assuming that (fake) rape porn/rape fantasies are “okay,” are there any kinds of fantasies that aren’t? Is it possible to draw a line somewhere? Or is it the case that anything is okay as long as it’s not real?
(I don’t claim to have the answers to any of these questions, by the way.)
I don’t suffer from sexually perverse fantasies; I enjoy each and every one of them.

But there’s a big difference between getting slapped in the face, and getting punched in the face - especially when it’s a man punching a woman. I’m going to clarify here that I do not support, in any fashion, real rape porn or rape porn that is marketed as real. That defeats the dividing line between truth and fiction enough that I have a moral problem with it. I am simply against blanketing fantasies as immoral if they contain things that are unsuitable in real life. As I said, fantasy does not hurt other people, and that is why rape is bad! Real rape porn would not qualify as fantasy.

By the way, hasn’t it occured to anyone that it’s entirely possible that there may be real rape porn coming out of other countries?
