Rayh and Lady in Red, your 'joke' wasn't funny.

-10 kajillion points to you for not seeing Cervaise and me’s acknowledgment of this :stuck_out_tongue:

I think it’s phone support for rebates processed in Bangladesh, while smoking the pipe of poppy.

I think she’s Bubbles from “AbFab”, although her writing makes Bubbles look like Austen…

Seriously, what could she do? Work the counter at a fish and chips shop? I wouldn’t want her near a cash register. Or maybe she’s 14? If so, her educational system is failing her miserably. I’d sue.

Harmonious Discord, you owe me a keyboard.

eleanorigby, you owe me a (clean) monitor.

Shoulda known better than to take a sip between posts.

You’d be surprised. Where I work, I sometimes receive emails from store managers and assistant managers that look disturbingly like hers.

Interestingly, Dex closed the thread and says that the mods disagree about what to do. Are they debating over this? Seems like Dex overruled Giraffe on the trolling issue. Go Dex! Will you let us know what you decide? I admit to a passing curiosity about it.

But then, Rigs thinks back on the charting she has seen some nurses write… and gives a weak, sickly smile. Gah…

Huh. I wonder how that squares with this? :dubious:

How what squares with what? The fact that he closed the thread means he’s my boss? Although Dex and I disagree on whether there should be a warning for that thread, I actually fully agree with the closing. I probably should have closed it myself, but I tend not to do that after answering a question about warnings or lack thereof so people can ask follow-up questions and/or call me a dick.

It does not need to “square with” the linked thread. Rubystreak considered the events based on limited information and came to an understandable, but erroneous, conclusion.

Dex’s action was not one “overruling” Giraffe, but a separate action after a consensus in the staff discussion had pointed in a particular direction. (I’m not sure that even now the discussion is completely closed, but we wanted to take action close enough to the event that we did not elicit cries that we were blindsiding anyone for long dead actions.)

We can still think they’re assholes, right?

tomndebb and I? Of course.

In fairness, I know a number of people who are perfectly normal in FTF discourse but who are simply terrible at emailed discourse. I suppose it’s one of those “different types of intelligence” things.

So much SM3 talk and no love for

Like this: :smack: [note big humunculus smackie hand]

Autolycus, thank you for bringing that thread to my attention. I would have missed it otherwise, and it was worth it just for the Flowers for Algernon and Vogon poetry jokes.

My initial reaction after reading her first few posts was that Red was [THREAD=483656]pinkvee wearing a sock.[/THREAD]. They sound like they’ve just successfully concluded a Vulcan mindmeld.

Faulkner knew what an ellipse was, though.

I wonder if Lady in Red wrote this question that inspired this Flash animation?

I don’t see how anyone can say that. The linked thread is hilarious. I suspect the OP didn’t care for it, seeing as how the humor ended up being at her expense, instead of ours, but there’s no lack of great jokes in there.

Except in the OP, of course.

Rigs especially, but everyone: Regarding grammar, I shall proceed to horrify all of you. Here is an e-mail, quoted verbatim, from somebody who’s fairly high up in our organization:

And another (regarding credit cards):

And one more:

All of these are the full e-mails, and this is how this person writes all the time. This person also brings down more than four times my salary.
