As an administrative professional, I was trained to be the final authority on grammar/spelling/writing in the office (which is fine by me, since I can do it better than almost anyone in any office). Theoretically someone this high up the food chain has an admin to do his correspondence, reports, etc. for him, so this kind of crap is only internal, not external (at least, I hope it is). Unfortunately, that kind of arrangement might lead to some higher-ups looking like they are functionally illiterate.
As for the OP, I didn’t find much about that whole thread funny; I found it kind of sad, actually.
I was actually just wondering, this morning, what the mods eventually decided on that one.
I guess they couldn’t work it out any better than we could.
