Like many others, I’ve now found the “evil board” thanks to this very thread. Unlike others, I think the “evil board” is awesome - it’s what the Pit should be, a straight-up gladiator arena knock-down drag-out hate-fest. It was also comforting to read that I’m not alone in my raw irritation and silent mocking of a few of this board’s most popular posters/attention whores.
I think it should be annexed and should become the new Pit.
I found the other place some time ago and I peek at it once in a while.
At my age and background, not much surprises me anymore but could someone confirm or deny for me that there are current members of this board who are posting there?
Although it’s mostly anonymous, it has always been my speculation that the majority of contributions there are made by current members who just enjoy a place to go and act sarcastic with over-the-top enjoyment. I mean, who seriously wishes that we all die by drowning in mecomium? That’s hilarious!
Or, you could just grow a fucking sack and Pit people who annoy you here in the Pit. I know it would take time away from your next seizure over news articles whose headlines suggest to you that school children are demanding lobster or homeless people are driving solid gold Rolls Royces, but I can assure you we’ll all manage to do without.
Giving out my mom’s funeral information along with my phone number and encouraging people to call and disrupt the service- that was flat out Ernie Kovaks hysterical! Especially coming as it did in a thread that encouraged the rape and murder of trannies! Nothing but wit prevails at that place, I tell ya. (Anonymously, of course- like the klan they purchase courage with anonymity and mistake vulgarity for wit, which is why I’ll admit a grudging respect for Diosa and Exy for at least identifying themselves there.)
Because the thing is, they’re not really “Pit-worthy” things that can be articulated and posted about. If ____ annoys me because they can’t make a post without mentioning the fact that they’re a ____, or if it drives me nuts that ____ is always talking about their kid even though they’re clearly an unfit parent, I can’t just start making fun of them and it wouldn’t be right to start a pit thread about it.
I guess snark can be an exorcising thing so that we DON’T have to fight with each other.
I think we’ve actually had a few pit threads about exactly those things…I don’t understand the reticence.
The only things they can do there that we can’t do here are A)post pictures, B)hide behind the “anonymous” tag, and C)wish death. If you don’t want to do any of those three things, the pit seems adequate.
I said “mostly”. As noted earlier I submitted that I wouldn’t mind it if this thread were closed. Because even while I don’t like the idea of ignoring it’s existence, today’s turn of events has escalated into a very real and specific attack on one member which I regret. The mindless asshole banter is fun to look at, even when aimed at members. But when real life shit is used as an attack, I regret the attention I may have sent in their direction.
ETA: Okay, they have proven unto themselves why the powers that be discourage discussion about them. I was encouraging it earlier, but they’ve shown me why the things are as they are.
As Sampiro notes, you are also prohibited, here, from dragging out names and addresses of posters, families, and employers and posting them while encouraging other posters to engage in real life harrassment. (What a shame. No wonder VC03 thinks it’s great.)
Listen up. I’m a fuckin’ mod here. Part of my job is to monitor people who register/reregister here to cause trouble. That’s part of what makes this place worth the price of admission.
I disappeared that latest thread about which you are bitching.
It was started by a long-time, fucking insane, returning banned poster. If such a person starts a thread, I have little choice but to disappear the thread. I’m sorry that people posted to it, but I (finally) agree that disappearing it is the best policy.
As we HAVE FUCKING REPEATED, REPEATEDLY, If you have a question about why a thread might have disappeared, send an email to a mod/Admin. Now, as a caveat, that particular mod/Admin might not have the 100% perfect answer, but it’s the way to do things. If you still have concerns, email me. I’m pretty savvy about finding the answer, but since I’m usually only on here early in the AM and all evening (EDT), you might not get an instant answer.
And before someone thinks I’m grandstanding, you can email almost any mod/admin here and get a pretty good answer why something happened. Usually, if they can’t find out instantly, they try to find out by quering the rest of us.
Seeing how you’ve already demonstrated quite thoroughly that you haven’t the faintest clue what the Pit is for (hint: it’s not for five paragraphs of obscenities because your dry cleaners didn’t say thank you one time when handing you your clean pants), I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised at this. Here’s the deal: if a poster annoys you to the point that you want to rant about them on another board, then you should man up and start a thread. That’s really what the Pit is for. (Well, that and asking mods why they closed thread X and calling them jackbooted Nazi thugs for it.)
Now, there’s no guarantee that anyone will agree with you, of course, which is where I suspect the real reluctance comes from. Such are the risks inherent in possessing a sack.
You are also prohibited from that at the snarkpit, jackass. And Sampiro wouldn’t have had any of his personal information posted if the psychopathic moron hadn’t emailed it to Excalibre and DARED him to post it.
