Here’s a game: post a headline, and we’ll guess if it’s real news, or a headline from The Onion.
I’ll start:
Ultra-Wealthy CEO Says ‘Tax The Rich’ Akin To A Racial Slur
- Real news
- Onion headline

There has been discussion of that, I think in the Evil MFers thread.
There is also the Newsthump response…
Couldn’t find article delete please
Ok found actual article:
it’s Hard Times not News Thump…
The Only Difference Between “Tax the Rich” and a Racial Slur Is I Don’t Become Erect When I Say “Tax the Rich” – Guest Post by Steven Roth
Here’s another one.
Trump Is ‘Bored’ With the War He Started
Trump Claims Correspondents’ Dinner Shooting Reinforces Need To End Journalism
I neglected to post the answer, but the Teeming Millions are correct.
America believes Donald Trump would win a fight with an 8-year-old boy - but just barely
Damn!! This is HARD!
The real life craziness is so crazy!
Has reality become too stupid for satire?
I figured that one had to be the Onion, because half of Americans somehow believe that Trump is some sort of badass. Wasn’t there some recent poll that most of his supporters think he could beat them in a fight?
“Trump Unable To Figure Out Why He Surrounded By Chinese People”
Ya had to think for a minute, didn’t ya?

The bad grammar gave it away.
Though the bad grammar would have almost worked if it was article about some lame Twuth of his though. I’m actually only managing 4/5 correct so far, though that one wasn’t the one I missed.
Florida Bill To Ban Marrying First Cousins Fails To to Pass
After all, where is the next generation of MAGAts going to come from?
That one’s not nearly absurd enough for an Onion headline. I couldn’t say Florida specifically, but I know that some states allow first-cousin marriage and some prohibit it, and given that, it’s perfectly plausible both that one of those states might introduce a bill against it, and that the bill might fail.
There really arent many good reasons to make it illegal, altho certainly with rare recessive genetic disorders , the couple should think carefully before having children. It isnt a good idea, but does that mean every foolish thing needs to be outlawed?
Right.

If you click the link in the article to the legislature website, there’s a lot more information on the bill. It didn’t just outlaw 1st cousin marriages, it had a lot of other unrelated clauses:
Department of Health; Revising definitions; revising eligibility requirements for dentists and dental hygienists participating in the Dental Student Loan Repayment Program; revising requirements for department approval of qualified physicians and medical directors of medical marijuana treatment centers; creating the Neurofibromatosis Disease Grant Program within the Department of Health; prohibiting marriage between certain related individuals; revising requirements for the micro-credential component of specialized training provided by the University of Florida Center for Autism and Neurodevelopment, etc.
But more importantly, it did pass both chambers - the FL house approved on March 4, 84-24, and the senate on March 12 37-0. The problem was that the Senate had amended it, and passed it back to the House, but the session ended on March 13, so it “Died in Messages”. So it failed due to procedural issues, not because legislators found their cousins too fetching. Presumably they could take it up again in the next session
