I hope Pedersen has learned the lesson from previous SB runner-ups. Keep the screws on until the final gun, don’t play to coast home.
I’ll give this comment all the thoughtfulness it deserves. None.
Remember Eagles. It’s 4 quarters. Don’t do what the Falcons and Jags have done.
Looked like he controlled it, turned, took a step, then the ball was slapped out. Announcers didn’t seem concerned with the call though.
On the no-PI: live I thought it was PI, but on replay it didn’t look nearly as bad. I’m fine with the non call.
Agreed. No allegiances here, except that I generally want to see the Pats lose. Except this Super Bowl is making it hard for me to care either way. That was a good no-call, IMHO.
Exactly, like the ticky-tack holding penalty on the Eagles defense on a 3rd down pass not much earlier. It gifted the Patriots a first down and kept the play alive. Total gift. I’m good with “let ‘em play”, but not “let the Patriots play”.
Of course you will. You’re biased against me in anything that I post. Not that I care, I don’t respect your opinion, either.
But please, feel free to hold forth on the phantom calls and non-calls in the Pats-Titans playoff game that ‘didn’t happen’ that we all saw. (I don’t think the Titans would have won anyway; they fell apart at the slightest sign of adversity. But again, not the point.)
OK, halftime show time.
Sadly we know Justin is not going to be exposing anyone’s boob this time around.
I’m a little surprised at how error-prone and sloppy the Pats have been in the first half. It’s not that they’re losing but how they’re losing that’s surprising. Even so, they’re only 10 points behind with the ball to start the second half.
I’ve been convinced that Doug Pederson’s a solid coach, so I expect him to coach his ass off the rest of the game. The question in my mind is the same one that we’ve asked of other Pats opponents in recent years: is the moment too big for the Eagles? Can they adjust to what the Patriots do if they have a successful scoring drive, or do they feel the pressure and eventually wilt?
I felt coming into the game that Nick Foles vs. Pats D was the match-up and I still feel that way. So far, Foles has been the better of the two. We shall see what happens in the 2nd half, and especially in the 4th quarter.
Tom Brady hasn’t played great, but he doesn’t necessarily have to. He just has to make great plays in the biggest moments, and he has to avoid critical mistakes. He could end up with a 50% completion rate and still win the game. It’s Foles who has to have the 2nd half of his life.
I just can’t watch this tripe. If I want to see boob I have the internet.
Man-boob, maybe? Watch for it, girls…
Interesting ‘duet’ with Prince…
The Super Bowl® is the only sporting event where you wait for the game to resume to go to the bathroom or go get your take-out.
I also agree that that no-call on Gilmore defending Jeffery was pretty lame. If that had been Gronk or Amendola and it was the fourth quarter with the game on the line, I guarantee you that flag gets thrown in favor of the Patriots.
In fact, I expect to see a couple questionable calls helping the Patriots along in the upcoming half.
Hate to break it to you, but I read and respond to content of posts, not who posted them. Until this post, I didn’t even know I was dealing with someone who has imagined some kind of enmity from me. Sorry to rain on your parade.
Refs screw up calls, no doubt. The idea that it somehow happens to favor one team consistently and intentionally, however, is undemonstrated silliness.
Ah, good — a brief Prince tribute. Hometown respect, well played Justin.
I do not know one single Justin Timberlake song.
In fact, he could be sitting on a bar stool beside me and I wouldn’t have a clue who he was.
And I agree. Can we please stop this halftime show?
Please. You showed it in the Steelers March thread, in which, btw, I proved you wrong. Sorry about that, only not sorry. Yours is the enmity, not mine. I just don’t give a fuck. I give what I get. If you want to be a jerk, you’ll receive it in equal measure.
Right. They just screw up calls in favor of the Patriots more than anyone else. I notice you didn’t address the Titans-Pats game. Or did you miss that?
There’s a piece of trivia nobody cares about…the first SB to go into the half with the score 22-12.
Whatever fever dreams gets you through the night, I guess.
I’m willing to listen to any actual evidence you have.
I didnt watch past halftime. It was pretty much over by that point.
That wasn’t my cup of tea. I know JT is a talented guy (and a damn good golfer), but that just looks like generic pop stuff to me.
