Reasons to keep living. What shows are you booked to see?

My wife is making sure I stay alive to take her to Hugh Jackman’s one-man show on Broadway next month.

Though it’s NOT the best possible incentive for me.

Is he doing “Tommy” in San Jose? he was here in Austin doing “Tommy” two nights ago.

Not really a show, but I have season tickets to our local minor-league hockey team, so I’m good until March or April or so. Depending on how good the team is.

I’d love to see Trans-Siberian Orchestra, they come through here every other year or so I think.

Yep, and the reviews from fans and the media alike have been really positive (unlike the “Use it or lose it” tour…the surgery really seems to have worked). Rog has a crackerjack band with Frank Simes and Pete’s brother on guitar and backup vocals. They are blowing people away on a nightly basis, even long time Who fanatics. For me, anyway, the old gods are not dead yet.

My only reasons to live:

Alan Davies and Janet Jackson in Nov/Dec, here in Aus.

Cirque du Soleil: Michael Jackson IMMORTAL world tour in Los Angeles next year - my first trip to the US - definitely cannot die before that.

Puscifer the day before my birthday - I have the awesomest best friend ever!

I’m in trouble- I finally got to see Portishead and I never, ever thought I would.

I’m good through the spring, as I’ve got a subscription to the Met (nosebleed seats!) that’ll run through then. Short term, there’s Gogol Bordello on New Year’s Eve to look forward to.

Not booked, but I just learned that Bela Fleck and the Flecktones have a date scheduled near me this fall. So I might have a reason to exist beyond November.

Love the banjo. Wish I had taken it up instead of piano. I would probably suck as much at banjo as piano, but I would feel way more cool.

I’ve gotta keep breathing at least until December, got tickets to see Wicked. I’ve listened to the broadway cast soundtrack so much I practically have it memorized, so geeked!

Just got home from the Fountains of Wayne gig. What an awesome show, one of the best I’ve seen in a long time. I especially liked the Radiation Vibe/Do You Feel Like We Do/Twilight Zone/Breakup Song/Mad World/Carry On/Jet Medley.

Boston Holiday Pops on December 10. After that, no reason. Sigh.

If plays count, I have tickets to see the musical Billy Elliot in March that I’m looking really forward to.
