I frequently get ‘504’ errors when I preview or post.
Lately, to post I first get the ‘504’, back-up, post again, and see the “Duplicate post” message confirming that the first post succeeded!
Any experts on interpreting tracert? It takes me 13 hops just to get to my provider () and then just 4 more to get to SDMB, so that’s unrelated to the time-outs I suppose. But there’s another site (predictit.org) I can’t get to at all in 30 hops. Would the tracert help diagnose that?

When you start seeing errors like that, take note of the frequency of errors – whether or not they are coming in clusters.
If you’re only getting odd ones once or twice a day … I’m not sure there’s much that TPTB can do to mitigate that. I gather that dollars are not going to be thrown at the problem, especially being the board still works fine probably better than 99% of the time across all users and database record calls/loads.
Something new today – for me anyway. Besides the usual timeouts and network errors, I also keep getting logged out. I’ve had to log in maybe half a dozen times this morning. If I get a connection error, or just set my phone down for half an hour and then come back, I’m logged out again.
Lots of timeouts today, and I rarely get them. Tried 2 computers, and 2 browsers in both, although they are on the same LAN. The LAN appears to be working perfectly with high-speed FTP.
