Recharging the MMP

Mornin’

Got Sis and BIL off to Texas at oh-dark-thirty this morning. Then I went back to sleep until time to get up to take the puppy out. We have a play date with SIL’s chihuahua this afternoon and in between, I’ll clean up the kitchen from last evening’s supper and prep the week’s breakfasts/lunches. Such and exciting life. :stuck_out_tongue:

Peach Streusel Pie is baking. Dishes used to make said pie, plus a few others, are being rinsed in the dishwasher. Higgs is barking like a nut case.

Life at FairyChatEstates.

Thanks, kopek.

A good friend of mine just added me to a Facebook group run by someone who rejected my Facebook friend request. Umm, interesting. :dubious:

Midget feel free to be annoying in the group.

Got up with pup. Played a rousing game of get the giant balance ball. It worked like a charm. Pepper barked so much that the rest of the family got up and we went for a walk before it got too hot. I walked blind doggy and old man today. They make a good combo. She likes having someone (besides me) that she can hear next to her, and he goes slowly and pants a lot (poor guy).

Everyone else took the young, spry dogs on a longer walk. I’m waiting for them to get back so we can head to brunch. I am fond of brunch.

Today shall be laundry. Not sure if anything else will get done.

British MMPers: it looks like my husband is getting re-assigned to Bristol, so we shall be relocating again. Any tips about the area would be appreciated. I will also start a thread.

Spidey looking forward to hearing about the Faire!

They don’t upset me: I just think that their gimmick is dumb. I dunno, maybe I’d appreciate the gimmick if I’d ever actually seen them taking something seriously, so I’d have a frame of reference.

I live in Bristol!

Admittedly, I’m moving out in a few weeks, but I’ve been here nearly 10 years, so I know it reasonably well. Anything specific you’d like to know? Feel free to PM me

It’s a really interesting city, there’s a lot going on, it’s very diverse and surprisingly friendly, for a place this size.

Nut good to hear. I will be taking you up on that offer.

How exciting for you and family Sunny. I would love it for a while anyway.

Happy Sunday!

It’s a cool and cloudy day today. I have the windows open.

I slept until almost 10, stayed up for a bit and then went back to bed.
I’ve decided that today can be a day of sloth and laziness. I may irk, don’t know.
Next weeks paycheck is going to suck either way, it’s just a matter of do I want it to suck a little or do I want it to suck a lot.

I’m sorry the reception you went to was disappointing Swampy.

The party was really good. Lots of food, I got sent home with enough leftovers to last me a week. The band was better than I expected. I met some friend’s of my friend that are really cool and fun people, as opposed to the other ones.
I promised myself that I would be good, I even hugged one of the* others* when she walked over and gave me a hug. However, several of them asked me what I thought about certain things and I was honest. I told them I didn’t want to hurt their feelings but since they asked.
I was … diplomatic.

How cool for you Sunny. Will you be taking the whole gang with you? Will they have to be quarantined?

RA - maybe it is just that I get him. Or her.

Howdy Y’all! I deheathenated, then took a nap, and afterward cooked a hyuuuuuuge meal of fried chikin, fried okra, creamed corn, cornbread dressin’ and giblet gravy. I may die of a carb overdose but it will be worth it all! Sis and niece declared it nummy and that’s good enough for me.

Well, I guess, technically it was a flight from them as they stayed there.

I blame it on Trump! Seriously.

Because he’s at the summer White House, there are flight restrictions; however, because we were a 17 yo festival, special exception was made for us to be able to fly despite the otherwise-no-fly-zone. Secret Service was on hand with handheld metal detectors & inspected the baskets, along with some other special procedures before we were allowed to take off. Last night’s winds put us in the general direction of SWH, so the briefing included the extra, extra, extra special precautions in case we did end up that way.
Ren Faire
Yesterday was opening day for this year. Slept at friend’s house Friday night; she officially works there, selling at one of the booths while he unofficially works there & makes chain mail. I was wearing black shoes, long black pants, long sleeve black shirt, black tunic, black [del]baklava (it was tasty, too)[/del] balaclava & 13lbs of 17,000 ring chain mail for 6½ hours; took him 250 hours to make it by hand!. They know lots of people, so I was, in essence, a special attendee & I got introduced to lots of people. I also got to formally meet one of the performers who I otherwise only knew via the interwebz; that was kinda cool. We participated in the parade that all the vendors must have representation in prior to the big joust. One of the ‘ladies’ was spilling out over the top of her corset & was drawing ‘eyetention’. She said she was going to start charging for stares. Being one who likes to sample beers, I asked her if I could get a flight.
It was fun, but obviously, we were a bit fried from that attire. Left there & drove about two hours to make the (above) flight.
I has a ! Went to the grocery sto’; I refused to buy any candy because there was no ‘regular’ candy. It’s August 6th & all of the Halloween stuff is out already. :smack:

Pssst… I’m female. :dubious:

RT and I managed ok and did not catch the shrubs on fire.

Spidey, which faire did you go to? I missed it if you said earlier.

We’re back from the play date. While they didn’t do a lot of playing, they sniffed each other and got to know one another. On the way home, my back passenger tire began tap-tap-tapping. I pulled off into a Pep Boys. The tire is OK, but I took surface streets home. I’ll have to schedule an appointment this week. There goes my quarterly bonus.

Schrödinger’s vacation is OFNF
I accidently locked Alex Catt in my closet. Glad I opened it up, before I left. “for the love of God, Montessor!

But what of the Vicious Chicken of Bristol?:wink:

Congrats, Sunny!

Sorry the reception sucked, swampy.

Sorry, red.

Yes, for the love of God.
