Recharging the MMP

Ugh. I’m waiting to hear back about a show that I was supposed to be in this weekend. I emailed the guy late and he said that I could still enter. So I mailed a check and my application and emailed him the pertinent info. And… Nothing, and he hasn’t even cashed my check. I emailed him yesterday and haven’t heard anything back. I HATE making phone calls, but if I don’t hear back from him soon, I’m going to have to call.

All things considered after this week’s events, I’d rather just stay home.

Do you go to a range, or out in the back yard?

If you worked for the USPS, I’d definitely think those two things were related. OTOH, you are in the delivery (fulfillment) business.
IF the weather holds out, I’m taking my bike & getting high* tonight.

*No drugs, just propane.

I can’t remember if I posted yet today
but I don’t see any post, so

Happy Thorsday!

It’s hot and N.O.S.

I obviously have a big ol’ BLURF!

I feel your pain Ruble, I’ve lost far too many friends and family, many from avoidable mistakes. :frowning:

Hang in there Midget, the payoff is worth it.

Glad to hear Santa Fes are tanks, Grump, Wifey just bought one. We’ve been enjoying it so far, and it seems to get better mileage than my Scion. :dubious:

I’ll tell you’all a story about a cop being in the right place at the right time. I was driving north on I-5 coming from Salem up to Portland in the leftmost lane. I was doing about 75, (speed limit was 65) when when an older Trans Camaro came out of nowhere (he musta been in one of the right lanes where I couldn’t see him) and proceeded to pass me on the shoulder of the highway . He had to be going 100 or faster. We were on a sweeping curve to the left, and as I came around the curve behind mr speedy mcspeedster, I saw a stater take off from the bushes in the median. He was on that fool like a lobbyist on a politician! Made me happy, it did.

Well, I had my other cataract out on Tuesday morning. Everything went well, except there was more swelling this time, but my eyeball is settling down now. I can almost read my computer screen without glasses now. (Didn’t need 'em before) but being able to see road signs and watch TV without any corrective lenses of any kind is pretty cool! I have to sleep with a mini-collander over my eye for another 6 days and put a never-ending series of eye drops in my eye for, seemingly, forever (until they run out), But I’m happy overall. I’ll be able to play in the water without worries from now on. And then there’s the bit about not going blind. Life is good.

Successful and not-very-painful stop at WalMart on the way home. Wish I’d remembered that we’re almost out of printer paper… dammit. But I got everything else, so I’ll count it as a win.

Glad it’s my weekend. I’ve got a lot I want to get done, top of the list being mowage of the ditch. It’s supposed to cool down a bit, so I may get some garden time, too. We shall see…

Damn doggio! I hope it doesn’t cost much for repairs.

sari, Nelson is 3/4 chihuahua and 1/4 rat terrier. He’s about 5 pounds now and likely won’t get much past 8.

I’m glad you’re OK wabbit. And it was shadenfreud that the cop was there.

Irk was irksome. After an afternoon shower yesterday, I found that Nelson pulls a Princess Pretty Paws in wet grass. He is getting better on the leash though. He met the UPS guy today. That’s the guy who will bring his treats and toys from Chewy.

Hang in there Medget. We’re rooting for you. {{{hugs}}}

Angry Wabbit glad you’re ok! I know what you mean about the shock. I got rear-ended by someone who got rear-ended a few years ago. I was in shock after and couldn’t figure out how to put my car in gear to move it to the side of the road.

Doggio you might want to ditch that Volvo and try again…

We made it up to Timberline at Mt Hood. Dinner was excellent. There’s so much smoke in the air right now from forest fires that the views were completely obscured. The kids had a blast though. They walked up to the snowline twice, where they very carefully threw snow at rocks, instead of each other.

Glad your eye is doing well Bumba

My puppy is supposed to be about 8 pounds when I get him.
As an adult he can be anywhere from 45-60 pounds. Since he is the runt I expect for him to be near the smaller end.

I feel a little bad sometimes for not getting a pound puppy. They are having a ‘clear the shelter’ event on the 19th and all adoptions are free. Last I looked there are only 6 dogs in the shelter, but there are 44 cats. I don’t want another cat though, and none of the dogs are what I’d be looking for. One was kind of cute, a beagle/bulldog mix, but mostly all they ever have are pit bulls and hounds. I’m leery of bringing either of those into a house with a cat unless they are a puppy.

Just looked they are up to 9 dogs, and 67 cats. They have a few beagle and beagle mixes, another breed not always good with cats.

Work was crazy busy. Start of month, plus training a new shift supervisor.

$77
And Nelson is still a terrier,

Not in the budget at the moment. But it was an odd malfunction(clip holding a fuel line broke ,and choked off the gas)

I’m in the inner-city so ----------- come to think of it, the backyard is an option. Several neighbors have done it. But actually I usually go to a range. I have done CB-caps and BB-caps in the .22 in the basement, the odd rubber bullets here and there, and I have a set of light-loaders (shoot a beam of light rather than a bullet) for a couple of my S&Ws. But the range and the fellowship there is just too relaxing.

As a couple cousins who worked for the USPS used to say -------- you know what it means when the flag at the post office is at half-staff?

They’re hiring!

In other news, I’m doing a 9:30-8:30 double tomorrow. It sounded like a good idea at the time. :smack:

:stuck_out_tongue:

Damn, & I thought I did some cheap vacations with comped hotel rooms & meals from the festival. :stuck_out_tongue:

You (& your cousins) are sick & twisted individual(s). I guess that’s why I like you so much.

I might be out in Oil Creek for a little run & gun next weekend iffn your dance card isn’t already filled up.
A couple of balloons started to setup tonight but then Momma Naturalé had other plans. Put it this way, the travel booth on the midway started selling (impromptu) Riverboat cruises, leaving from…right there!

Mooom, thanks for organising us, 'im indoors was asking about it the other day. He doesn’t post here but you can find him (Smid) in Café Society sometimes.

I am at irk, feeling a bit overloaded at the moment as we’re doing a job that is very important but we only have access to systems on specific days. Stupidly, our two systems don’t communicate well and can’t deal with a massive load of data at any one time so across the uni, we have specific days on which to do this work, and we’re told which bits to do on which days so the system doesn’t break.

I have read very quickly but not really retained. rosie’s .sig to all!

Dammit - I wrong a post, then hit the wrong button and it all disappeared.

To summarize - slept with Mel - yay!

Ditch mowage today - meh.

Pellets being delivered = cramped garage till we start burning.

Chores shall ensue.

Happy Firday.

I has a hangovery headache.

It was very hot & humid & I did have too much to drink last night; they ran out of water so I ended up having 3 8oz (no-name brand) colas. Caffeine is as much of a diuretic as alcohol is. I feel this bad & didn’t even get the pleasure that caused this pain. :frowning:

Yesterday was 85 and hoomid. Had a riding lesson and even my underpants were sweaty. A front moved in overnight and this morning it is cloudy and 55 with a predicted high of 67. My kind of weather.

TGIF. I have no plans for the weekend except to hang out. At the barn and home.

What are you using CB and BB caps in? Are they the size of .22 shorts?

Thanks, all.

I have much to do today, and I’m trying to decide the order to do it in.

ETA: This is my post # 7,777! :stuck_out_tongue:

Blurf Howdy, Took off yesterday cause Lucky Louie had a tummy ache and kept us up most of Wed night. He has had two big BM’s and is feeling better now. No more people food for him except boiled chicken. Little fellow has become quite piggy of late.

MMMMMOOOOMMMM
I sent you an email on yahoo. I just need an estimate on the weight of the package for the label and we will be able to scan it to you to print. Is that yahoo account the one we should use?
