Having a terrible day/week/month/life. I want to drink myself into oblivion but I have a rehearsal tonight and I want to do okay at it. :’(
Hang in there Midget Tis not worth giving up all the hard work you have put into your sobriety.
On that note I have been a nonsmoker for three months in just a couple more days.
**BooFae **- I’m glad you prefer the park idea! I’ll touch base with our overly-absent **Tugig **and see what he has to say, since he works all over the DC area. To me, the main criteria are proximity to Metro, nearby toilets, and sufficient picnic tables or benches. I shall organize soonly and start a thread in case non-Mumpers wish to come play with us.
Now, back to work with me!
Thanks **Butters. **And good for you for quitting smoking.
Howdy Y’all from Ye Olde Home Towne! I took a scenic route up through some old haunts which was fun and didn’t use any more gas than my usual route, so there’s that. I got here around noon and saw my niece off to irk. Sis is still at irk but should be here soonish. I took a nap, went by the cemetary to see my mother’s little plaque marker for the first time, and went to the Pubic Sto’ to get a Stouffer’s lasagna, sallit, bread, and, of course, ice cream. This will comprise dindin. Niece’s two dawgs, con artists that they are, keep beggin’ me for treats of which they have gotten plenty.
{{{ruble}}}, I’m sorry about your friend. One of the hazards of riding is that you go to far too many funerals.
butters, I hated to leave him this morning. He was happy to see me this afternoon. We went for a walk to the mailbox, over to the complex office so that he could meet the manager and maintenance guy, then with me to take out the trash, which he won’t do again (I had to pry a water bottle cap from his jaws  ). We played a vigorous game of Kill the Moo Cow (one of his rope toys) and now he’s cuddled up on my lap.
{{{emily}}} Hang in there.
I’s tahred. It’s been awhile since I’ve chased a [del]toddler[/del] puppy.
I did a punkin’ wig inventory - 129! I didn’t realize I’d made so many. Right now, I’m doing some more braided wigs, and I need to come up with some more buns. Only 21 to go!
(((Ruble)))
(((Midget)))
I’ve been thinking about **doggio
** today as I’m on my way back to Ohio from North Carolina. RT was rather abruptly terminated from his job and I had to pick him up. It’s not worth telling the long story of the stupid reason they let him go. However, the great news is that he has a new job at an old familiar company and he starts on Monday! This is what I feel is an optimal placement for him and I’m very proud of him for undertaking this job again.
Meanwhile don’t get me started on the disaster that my job seems to be turning into that no one is prepared for in 20 or so days.
Yeah – and you never get used to it either. Don’t get me wrong; like having friends I care about I wouldn’t change it for the world. Living alone and shut up just isn’t my bag. But it would be nice to go one season some day without having to put the good clothes on for something like this.
{{{ruble}}}
Midget, you’ll get through this. During the worst season of my life (fired from my teaching job, living alone in an apartment sending out resumes and having to stay indoors 9-5 for any calls for interviews, with very few calls and even fewer interviews (and in the end, no job)), I got through it by going to see “The Blues Brothers” about 8-9 times, just to give me something to get through it. Find something you like/love and do it. And if necessary, do it again and again.
Just picked up 12 bags of soccer equipment for the U-6 Girls, now all I need is to do the rosters and organize the first practices. This could prove to be interesting.
So the Volvo broke down on the drive home. This pretty much kills my vacation.
{{{{Midget}}}} Hang in there.
Congrats! Keep it up.
That sucks. But glad he found another job.
Bit of a sucky day here.
Nothing too awful though.
Hang in there Midget, and good going Butters.
I am horribly allergic to tobacco, so I’m always happy when somebody manages to quit, not just because of my allergies but because of their health too.
{{{Doggio}}}
I’d lend you my truck if you lived closer.
What kind of puppy is Nelson, Red?
I wish I could see the pics.
Glad RT found a new job already. Sometimes being fired can be a good thing, I’ve known many people to find a better job afterwards.
I still have my Jeep, but that is on death’s door, too.
Forty-four years ago today, I reported to Recruit Training Command (Women) in Orlando. AKA, boot camp. I was a 19-y/o who’d enlisted on a whim. And look where it got me.
I have to go home via WalMart because we’re out of kitteh kibbles. Then tonight and early tomorrow, we need to clear the section of the garage where the pellets will be stored since they’re being delivered tomorrow. That means we need to move FCD’s motorcycle, among other stuff. Just what one wants to do on a hot summer evening.
I’s tahred - hope I survive the day. On the plus side, it’s free lunch day! We’re getting box lunches from Panera! That was worth getting up for.
Happy Thursday!
Blurf. I had a car accident on Tuesday, going to work.
I’m fine. Some jackass in a souped-up little POS car with a spoiler on it tried to pass me on the right, and clipped my right front. I was going around 60 MPH. I’m pleased to report that Hyundai Santa Fes are freakin’ tanks,
and that my air bags work as designed. They’re being replaced or stuffed back into the container or whatever now. And the SUV is also being checked for damage to the frame. I get it back tomorrow.
A Massachusetts statie saw the whole thing, so I don’t have to pay a cent for the car repair. He also talked me down from the hysterical-shock-crying after the crash.
Nice guy. Probably happy to deal with sobbing instead of someone trying to beat the hell out of the other driver.
And yesterday I got the results of my first mock medical coder exam. I sucked. All of us sucked. The instructor told us that EVERYONE does terribly on the first mock exam, particularly if they’ve been out of school for more than a few years, but all 3 of us in the class are overachievers, and we were displeased with ourselves.
You’re brave. I can’t imagine doing boot camp in ORLANDO in August. I’m originally from DeLand. It’s fookin’ hot in Central Florida in August!
I love when we get box lunches from Panera, even if I hate their commercials’ focus on “CLEAN” food. Like, what, do the rest of us eat out of a cesspool? Also, my office evilly orders their cookies as part of the box lunch.
I’m taking a vacation day tomorrow. Getting the car, and if it’s nice, I’m going to hang out by the pool and do nothing.
{{{hugs}}}
I understand completely. My high school class is losing an average of 2 of us per year over the last 6 or 7 years. We’re 47-48.
Off to work.
Glad you’re OK, and the Sat Fe is OK.
I wasn’t brave - I was a dumb 19-y/o kid! My most vivid memory of those 8 weeks is that it rained every day but 3, usually mid-afternoon.
My idiot daughter lives in Orlando now, after attending UCF. I used to think she was so intelligent…
Oh, and our Panera lunch came with a cookie. YUM! PS - glad you’re OK after you auto-boo-boo, and yay for having a witness!
Very busy morning, but busy in a good way. Hope the afternoon goes by as quickly.
I really do love my job!
Went shooting and getting ready for work.
And it looks like I’m going to just miss being first.
Its fun being juvenile.
